Hi, hope you had a wonderful weekend! It feels like the days are flying by so quickly and I'm falling behind with my list of to-dos. But, well, I really can't complain as I got some new goodies to play with over the weekend. And, I did ink up some stamps that are in a box just waiting to be used.
Here's my card:
from this TCM's May Sketch
This time I stayed true to the sketch pretty much, it's fun just to do so. No fancy colouring, just a few Copics on that beautiful dress (V000, V01, V04 and RV10, RV13, RV14 for the sash). The dress was cut out and adhered with pop dots onto the card, where I've also stamped the dress form image with Memento Rich Cocoa. I added a piece of sheer gathered trim at the bottom of the dress. The dress form and the sentiment are from TCM's Sew Lovely and the flowers from Simply Delightful stamp set.
Here's another closer look at the card..
There's plenty of time still to play along this challenge if you'd like to.
Since this is a CAS card, I'm submitting it for the Simon Says Stamp challenge as well.
Have a Fabulous week!
Kary

For You
Today's card is another simple one. The main image is from Melanie Muenchinger's beautiful floral set called Stately Flowers 1. It's an easy flower to colour, I coloured the petals with Copic Markers R35, R32 and R30, adding first the darker shade R35 as shown, and then R32 and finally filling in the flower with R30. The flower centre is coloured with Y21 and Y17, the leaves are coloured with YGYG95, YG17, YG11 and the background with G000. The tiny sentiment is from Melanie's other set A Year of Flowers. If you know Melanie, she illustrates such beautiful floral stamps which I absolutely love.
Did you know that Melanie is giving away a signed copy of her book A Year of Flowers this week at CAS-ual Fridays (CFC#46)? That's so exciting and I just can't wait to play along. Thought I should be more organised this week and not forget the deadline ;) When I was thinking of a song, the one that comes to mind was one from The Sound of Music called My Favourite Things - one of my favourite things is stamping and colouring flowers. Flowers just seem to brighten and cheer my day!

Bonjour - A CAS card

In that same week, Waltzing Mouse had their new stamps release and I found an amazing set called French Country. I think it's obvious, isn't it, that it reminded me so much of the shop display above.
I just love the way Claire's sets are always so unique and fun. Here's a card with the chicken and sentiment from French Country set, and the frame and flourishes from Florentine Frippery set. Just a simple card ;)
I'm playing along the Waltzing Mouse sketch challenge #90 this week. I was going to link this to the CAS-ual Fridays CFC45 challenge as well, but I'm lost track of time ;)
Have a great day!

Inspired Stamps - 1" Flowers
Hello Friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I'm sharing a special post today focusing on Inspired Stamps 1" Flowers stamp set.
These tiny images are so fun to work with. They are perfect for creating cute little focal images on a card or using them to create pretty backgrounds, as well as working with stamping/inking techniques.
I went with a Clean & Simple design. Here's my card:
The 1" flowers were stamped on white cardstock, and coloured with Copic markers. I die-cut a window on the card front and did some piercing along the shaped window. The flowers image was adhered just behind the window with 1/16" foam adhesive. I stamped a sentiment just underneath the window with the set Inspired Stampers' Favorite Collection #2. This is an easy design and could easily be mass produced for a card set.
Speaking of card set, I have one to share using the 1" Flowers set:
These cards measures 4.25x4.25". I used the Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with patterned paper from Lily Bee Design (Picket fence) and some brown and pink cardstocks. It's so easy to mix and match the flowers to the stem and leaves or the vase. Add a little glitter to the stamped images for some interest, and using a simple layout and you'll have a great card set.
Here's a photo of the card gift set:
I hope you like the above ideas.
Thanks for visiting me. Do have a wonderful week!

Stately Flower 1
Do you have a favourite subject that you love to photograph? Mine would be flowers!! My happiest moment was when I visited Keukenhof, near Amsterdam. I went a little mad, taking hundreds of photos of just flowers. So, guess you could imagine my excitement, when I saw Melanie Muenchinger had a new stamp set called Stately Flowers 1! It's the first in the series of all the state flowers in the US.
Lately the mailman has been taking his sweet time delivering my letters and orders. I've been having one of those low mojo days but when this set arrived, I couldn't keep up with the ideas in my head.
First, a gift card holder - I selected the poppy image and stamped it on X-press It Blending card using Memento Rich Cocoa. I've been meaning to tell you that for softer images, and especially for skin, I prefer to stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa - it gives a much softer tone outline compared to Tuxedo Black. The poppy was coloured with R01, R02, R05, R08, the flower centre with YR12, YR07 and Atyou Spica Yellow and the stem & leaves with YG99, YG95, YG91
On the inside I added a sentiment that came along in the set, and you can see the pop up flap holding the sample gift card. The patterned papers are from Crate Paper, Farmhouse 6x6 pad.
My second card is a CAS, with some die-cuts, fancy trim and a button.
I hope you'll check out Melanie's new set, and if you live in the US, there's a free download for you (at StampTV) to customise the names of the 50 states which coordinates with the stamp set.
Well, I'm looking forward to the coming set with the hibiscus (incidentally, it's the flower of Hawaii), because, that's the national flower of my country.
See you!

Hello There!
Hello there! I can't recall if I've ever made a colour block card, but it's always fun to try something new. I used a butterfly stamp fom The Craft's Meow to showcase the blocks of colours. To frame the blocks, I used some Baker's twine secured in place with Glossy Accents. I'm really loving theses twines from The Twinery.
For more info on the Color Block challenge and to view the awesome samples, click here.
Enjoy the colours around you today!

Felt = the green felt grass
Twine = jute twine around the focal image
The card didn't take long to make, I did some really quick colouring on the digital image, cut out the stamped sun & cloud image, die-cut the felt grass and made a little sentiment tag. The end result was a summery card.
Have a marvellous day!

A Thousand Words
I've been neglecting my Lawn Fawn stamps lately. That's not good, no! So here I am, playing along with the current challenge at Lawnscaping - which is to make a CAS card. ;)
Here's my card:
It's a really simple card. First I stamped the polaroid image from Say Cheese on a white cardstock. On an apricot cardstock, I stamped the little camera image. I had to go against my usual process of colouring the image, and left this one plain. It feels strange but I kinda like the result. The sweet sentiment comes from the companion set Say Cheese, too!
I hope you can join in to play along in the challenge this week. Check out the details here.
Have a great day!
