Feathers

Hello! Last week I made quite a number of cards for my brother to take home.  Guess I've never mentioned it, my brother is a theologian, and we're all so proud of him.  But it's frustrating asking him questions about faith, cos his standard answer is the more you know, the less you really know.

I have been wanting to break out my new Waltzing Mouse stamps, and this was the perfect, perfect opportunity.  I love the Scripture sentiment Claire has added in this beautiful Fine Feathers set.

As I had so little time, I kept the card rather simple.  Teal is the colour of the week for me :)  I used Memento Teal Zeal on this card.

My second card was created with the Funky Feathers and the background stamp Crackle Mini, using approximately the same colour scheme.

Here's a close up of the crackle mini stamp - I LOVE it!!

Just one last card to share, for the Doll challenge:

The doll was coloured with Copic markers.  I just wished I had more time to decorate the card :)

Thanks for visiting me.

Have a wonderful week!!

Happiness is coming Your Way!

So glad it's Friday!  Last week, I didn't manage to make any cards - the week was so hectic.  Today, I'm sat here typing while my dinner is getting cold, but, who cares...LOL!  I think the Fridays with Unity is pretty addictive & fun.

For this card, I used the Fashionista girl set - Bianca, and paired it with the sentiment set Blossom by Blossom.  I can't recall all the Copic markers used, but I wanted to use the BV series, so the purple you see are all different combination of the BV's.  And for some fun, the gold shimmery heart wood veneer was coloured with OPI nail polish (the James Bond girls series) :)

Last weekend, my brother was here, and we had some fun driving around, visiting wineries and sampling some really good food.  Here are a couple of photos taken at Cape Leeuwin, one of the places we visited.  Just behind this lighthouse is where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean.

Thanks for visiting me.  I hope you'll have a wonderful weekend!

Inspired Stamps Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to Inspired Stamps Christmas in July Blog Hop!  We have a set of Christmas cards to share, one stamp-3 ways :)

You should have arrived here from Chere's blog, if not, please start from the beginning at Inspired Stamps blog, so that you do not miss viewing all the Amazing creations the Design Team has in store today.

On my cards, I used the mini stamp set "Luke 2:14 (Tree)" and stamped it on cream cardstock.  I coloured them with Copic markers and watercolour pencils (Inktense), and cut them out using different shaped dies.  I kept to the same design for all the cards.

Here are all of the cards together:
Now, for the exciting part - make sure you leave me a comment, as Antoinette will be giving away a stamp (either HLO:Christmas Boy or HLO:Christmas Girl) to one lucky reader.  To increase your chances, leave a comment on every blog as there will be a winner selected from each of the blogs.  Antoinette will announce the winner on the Inspired Stamps blog, so please check to see if you have won.  The winner on my blog will need to email me, within one week.

Your next stop is the Inspired Stamps Blog.  Have fun!

Thank you for visiting me.  Have a great day!

Inspired Stamps - Anything Christmas

Wow, another week has gone by, I just can't find enough hours in a day to do all that I want to.  It's Inspired Stamps Anything Christmas theme this week, and I made a really simple card.

I've always loved the traditional Christmas cards with a touch of glitter.  I used a die to cut out the centre of the card, and adhered a patterned paper at the back of the card.  Then I stamped the Vintage Christmas silhouette image on the patterned paper.  To finish off the card, I added some glue around the edges and threw some chunky champagne glitter on it.

Hope you day is going well.  Take care!

Christmas in July

Happy Friday!  I've been complaining so much about how cold it has been lately.  My nose literally feels frozen every night :)  Yet, I have been busy making ice-creams!  All because the ice-cream maker was on special, and I could eat ice-cream anytime of the year.

Last week, I visited a craft shop near where I live, and they were celebrating Christmas in July.  So, I thought it was a good time to make some Christmas cards.

Just a simple card with the stamped image, and no patterned papers.  I bought this Phyllis Harris stamp set - "Twinkling Joy" recently, during the Unity sale.  The Unity sales are so good every week, and it makes me wish I live in the US, cos shipping would be a lot cheaper...but on second thoughts, I might go broke :)

Inspired Stamps - Scripture card

Hello again!  Hope your week is going well.  Today's Inspired Stamps project focuses on Scripture.  I seldom make Sympathy cards, but it's always handy to have one.

The card measures 4.25 x 4.25", and I used the lovely stamp set "Comfort" for the card.  The Scripture sentiment was stamped on the card, and cut out with a round die.  Then I stamped the silhouette flower in a light teal ink (Versamagic Sea Breeze) on the side.  I felt the teal and cream colour combo is rather soothing for such a card.

Take care, and may you experience God's comfort and love today.

True Friends

I'm glad it's Friday!!  It has been a cold, wet week here.  I'm sorry I didn't manage to visit all your blogs last week - it was a busy weekend.  Thank you for the well wishes - the new job is going well, lots to learn and quite a challenge. I'm also required to take certification exams. The exam bit isn't fun, but it's what I have been wanting to do, so I can't complain :) It's a good thing.

I hope your week has been good!  I made this card with two dear friends in mind... some of you know Julie lost her dog, Molly, and my friend, Christine also lost her dog, Sophie, around the same time.  I've never owned a pet, but I can imagine the love and joy the dogs have brought into their lives.  I feel their pain and loss.  Perhaps, this card describes the bond between a much loved pet and its owner.

Stamp set : Unity Phyllis Harris "Listen from the Heart"

The Copic markers I used are:

Horse - E51, E53, E55, E57
Girl Skin - E50, E01, E13, R20
Girl Hair - E21, E13, E15, E99
Grass - YG61, YG63, YG67, R20
Dress - C1, C3
Heart - R32, R35, R37, R39

Christine penned this beautiful poem in memory of her dog, Sophie, which really touched my heart. Christine has kindly allowed me to share, and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Stars and Stripes

Today's Inspired Stamps theme is Stars and Stripes!  I made a 4x4" card, using the new HLO Arms full of Stars Girl, and the sentiment from Winter Ruth.  It's a little bright, but I think it's a fun card to cheer someone.

To all my friends in the US, Happy Independence Day!  Take care during the holiday and be safe.

Have a lovely time!
