Key to My Heart

Hello  Friends!  The weather has been so hot and it's super hard to sit down and create.  And, I'm also slowly packing up my craft supplies, as my holiday is fast coming to an end.  There's so much to pack, I've survived for almost a year without moving all my craft supplies, and it's time to bring them with me.

It's a simple card for today - mostly a one layer card.  I used 2 Itty Bittys for this card : Dream Big and Key to my Heart.
After all the stamping, I added 2 strips of Tissue tapes at the bottom right corner and added some score lines to frame the image.

As it is Friday, I'm hoping the Unity Friends with Flair link is up, so that we get to share and enjoy some Unity creations.

I'm also submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week :)

Have a wonderful Friday, and a fabulous weekend!

Summer Card

Thank God for Summer!  It's amazing how everything looks so different during the Summer, and how the warm weather lifts up the spirit.  I have a summer themed Inspired Stamps card to share, with this little girl in her cute swimming gear.

This card is so hard to photograph, as the score lines don't show up well. On the white panel underneath the girl image, I made 2 score lines using my Scor-buddy.  First, I scored all around the panel (1/8") and then flip the card over and score on the opposite side (1/8").  I think the score effect gives the frame more dimension.  The HLO image I used is HLO : Summer Girl

Beautiful

It's been a long week, and I'm so glad Friday is finally here.  And, of course, it's the day to share a Unity FWF project ;)  I've been playing with the set, Imperfection is Beauty and absolutely love it!

DD-1047A-IMPERFECTION-IS-BEAUTY

A simple card with just the lotus flower, and some die-cutting and fussy cuts.  This is a short post, as I'm heading out for a day hanging out with my friends.

Hope your day is beautiful!

Wedding Card

Welcome to another Thursday with Inspired Stamps! This week we are showcasing HLO Characters.  I love the latest May HLO Release, especially the HLO : Bride and HLO : Groom, so I decided to pair them together on a wedding card.  It was so fun to see the two of them together and I think they are the sweetest couple!

It was rather challenging to colour the groom in black and the bride in white :) but I think it turned out alright.  Hope you like the card!

Thanks a Bunch

Hello Friends!  I'm participating in the WaltzingMouse Stamps' Blog Party, and the theme for this month is Teacher Appreciation.  It's a difficult theme for me as I have left school a looooong time ago, and I don't know what kids and parents give their teachers these days.

But, if I were to make a card for a teacher, I think this would be it :)

It's a little girl saying thanks to her teacher and she's standing in front of a blackboard :)  The colours on the blackboard aren't showing up well on the photo (I don't have my camera with me, just the faithful iphone).  The girl image is from Half Pint Heroines, and she was coloured with Copic Markers.

Perhaps this close-up shot might be a little clearer.  I stamped the sentiment (from Compact Sentiments set) and white embossed it.  Actually I found the white embossing powder has turned a little yellow, and I quite like the effect.  Then I stamped the little bird from Half Pint Heroines with white ink and coloured it with metallic colourpencils.  I promise you the effect is pretty good in real life!  I embossed the frame of the blackboard with some score lines using Scor-pal to give it some dimension.  I added some distressing on the girl image for a more vintage look, seeing I've left school ages ago... hehe.

The patterned paper is from Graphic 45 - An ABC primer, which helps to create the scene for this card.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please join me to check out all the Amazing creations at the WMS Blog.

Have fun!
Kary
I'm also submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge - Flower Power.

Be True

Happy that I finally get to stamp and colour one of the Fashionista girls!!  Love them all!  This is Fashionista Anastasia, so glamorous and so chic.  I gave her a pink and red dress and I think she looks kinda fabulous.

It doesn't show up on the photo, but I added some sparkle around her with the Rock Candy stickles.  Anastasia is coloured with Copic Markers:
Hair - E21, E23, E99, E27
Skin - E50, E01, E13, R21
Boots - R21, R22, R24, Colourless blender
Dress - R30, R32, C1, R21, R22, R24
Background - YG0000

The sentiment is from the set Imperfection is beauty, and I adhered the strip to a piece of old lace from my mum's sewing box ;)

Now, it's time to check out the Unity Friends With Flair post for some Amazing projects.

A Season and A Time

Hello!  This week's Inspired Stamps project, we're sharing Layered Cards with Scripture.  On my card, I used the Scripture from the recent release set "Time" and the brand new "HLO : Girl With Star".

Here's another view of the card to show the layers:

To view more ideas on Layered Cards, please visit the Inspired Stamps Blog - I'm sure you will be inspired, and perhaps you'll add some layering onto your project this week.

Enjoy!

Thinking of You

Hello!  Just a short post to show a card I made over the weekend.  It's a Wee Stamps digital image called Flower Fairies.  Isn't she adorable?  I know the colouring isn't the best, must be the hot weather :) and it's hard to sit for long.

I'm submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp challenge - Things with Wings.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a lovely day!

Because I Care

Happy Friday!  I'm so glad it's time for Unity Friends with Flair (but, oops the link is not up yet, well nevermind ;)).  My card uses the image from Phyllis Harris set - I will Give You My Heart.  She's totally cute!

The sentiment is from Blossom by Blossom set, and I think it goes so well with the PH image.  The Copic Markers I used are :
Hair : E27, YR24, E25, E21
Skin : E50, E01, E13, R21
Heart : R32, R35
Dress : BG32, BG11, R35, R32

This card is based on the Unity challenge sketch below:

Inspired Stamps May Release

Welcome to Inspired Stamps May Release day!  I can't tell you how excited I am to work with these new characters Antoinette has created.  Today I'm showcasing 2 of the new HLO characters and they are just Fabulous!!  As you can guess, the characters are HLO : Bride and HLO : Groom.

Antoinette has designed the HLO : Groom such that his arm can be masked and put around the bride. How clever! In my samples, I have kept them separate, just to showcase the stamps individually.  Here are the cards:
The groom card can be used for weddings and other congratulatory or birthday cards.
My favourite is the HLO : Bride image.  I think she looks exquisite in the beautiful wedding gown and pearls.  I didn't add a sentiment to the card, as I think the image says it all.

Please visit the Inspired Stamps Blog for more Amazing samples from the Design Team.  Each of us are featuring different sets.

Make It Move Challenge

I can't believe how fast time flies, when on holidays.  But, the great thing is, I get to make fun stuff!  I can't resist this WMS challenge - Make It Move.  Click on the link and see Claire's beautiful and fun card!

Truth is, I've been making some kids cards and when I saw Claire's challenge, I thought I should make another one with movement based on this card...

and then, I thought wouldn't it be fun if the elephant can move?  After some thought, this card was the outcome...
See the ribbon at the bottom of the elephant?  Hang on to it, and you can move the elephant forward on the slider... like so:

Just a simple mechanism, I had a little strip of cardstock behind the elephant, wrapped around an opened slot of the patterned paper.

The images are from one my favourite sets (I have so many ;)) Half Pint Heroines and the images are coloured with Copic Markers.

Hope you like the idea.

Gratitude

I have always enjoyed the Mojo Monday sketches, and am so glad I get to play along this week.  I have some Verve stamps which I've not used often enough, and it was great to take them out.  And, I just felt like making a simple card (with no colouring) with just plain stamping.  It was a nice!

Love this sketch, and here's my card:

I just kept to the sketch cos I love everything about it.  The Verve sets I used are:
Bloom and Grow (the flowers in the background), Making a Statement (frame) and Beautiful You (sentiment).

Tulips

Hello! It's been a hectic week, but I managed some time for stamping.  How fun!  One of the things I miss most about living in Amsterdam is seeing the beautiful tulip fields, and the many colours of tulips sold in the flower markets.  Tulips are such happy and cheerful flowers.

The tulip fields - a view from the train in Amsterdam

One of my favourite tulips - the "Moulin Rouge", at a flower show
Here's my card :

This beautiful tulips image is from the Unity set Tulips and Daisies and I used Copics to colour the image :

Watering can - C00, C1, C3
Tulips - Y11, Y13, Y17
Leaves - YG61, YG63, YG67

Once again, I'm linking this to the Unity Friends with Flair post as well as Simon Says Stamp Happy Mail challenge for this week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Flowers

Our challenge this week at Inspired Stamps is a Flower card with Scripture.  There's so many Inspired Stamps floral sets to choose from, but I love this set, Butterflies and Blooms.

Butterflies and Blooms
Using the butterfly on the two flowers stamp, I masked off the butterfly and stamped the flowers on white cardstock.  Then, I added some colours using Copic Markers and finish off with the punched butterflies.  The sentiment is from the set Fall Gratitude.

If you have been eying some stamp sets, this is a great time to get them - there's a wonderful sale going on this week.

Plus, throughout the whole month of May, Antoinette is sharing 31 days of Mixed Media ideas and projects.
Don't miss out and check it out at the Inspired Stamps Blog.
