WMS Pyjama Party

Hello! I'm so pleased to join the WMS Pyjama Party - I was a little worried that my new stamps may not arrive in time, but they did last Friday.  I just love the nautical set so much.

Here's the first card I made for Challenge 1 - Tie a Knot in It

I used the Safe Harbour Sentiments and the Ocean Bound sets with an older set Very Vintage Labels 18.  Claire makes such great sets to play with and I had so much fun making the card.

I think the nautical theme is so great for masculine cards, and I am needing a few of these soon for my friends' birthdays.

For Challenge 2 - Get Nauty, I had more or less the same layout as the first.  When I looked at two cards, I couldn't really decide which challenges they should be paired with, cos I think they fit both the challenges...LOL!

Here's the card, I think it's a slightly fun card for a cool guy, maybe..

Challenge 3 is colour inspiration, something I always have trouble with.  I'm not the most patient person, and I want to finish making cards really fast, and having to find colours which match is always a huge challenge for me.  But, I was determined to play along.

Here's my take:

I also used one of my very first Waltzing Mouse stamp sets, Very Vintage Labels 1 on this card.

Finally, for Challenge 4 - Oldest Stamp it was fun to search out the Oldest stamp set in my stash.

On this card, I just couldn't resist adding the oldest (Very Vintage Labels 4) with a newer set (Compact Sentiments Part Two) and the newest set (Two Step Floral Sprig) in my WMS collection.  This is such a fun challenge, I love how the sets go so well together.

Wow, what fun it has been to participate in this PJ Party.  I really enjoyed the challenges, and get to play with the new stamp sets together with the older sets.  I can't wait to see what all of you create!

Thanks for visiting me.

Forever Friends

Can't believe Friday is here - the week has gone by so fast.  This week, I made an effort to find time to make more cards.  But they are all quick cards, done in 30mins, max.  The colouring is not the best, but something's gotta give when one's in a hurry.

This image always brings a smile - I love the friendship the boy shares with his beloved dog.  Sometimes I wish I could own a dog, but my life is too busy and I won't have time to give it the attention it needs.  Perhaps someday...

Since it's Friday, I can't wait to visit my Unity FWF's blogs - I must apologise for last week.  I just didn't have the time to do anything.  Hopefully this weekend is less hectic :)

Thanks for visiting me, and have a Great Weekend!

Inspired Stamps - Happy Birthday

Hello again!  This week's Inspired Stamps project is on Birthdays.  Instead of making a card, I decided to create a tag which can go along with a present.  I used the gorgeous Inspired Stamps character Esther's Bouquet.

She was coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut out and adhered on the tag.

Don't forget to check out the sale at Inspired Stamps happening now till Friday!

Have a great day!

A Little Birthday Card

Hello!  So very happy the weekend is here.  I'm up early this Saturday morning to make a card for a little girl who turned one this week, whose party I'm about to attend.  What do people do at such parties?

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate card for a little girl but it was all the inspiration I had this morning...
Maybe she might enjoy the present more, which I had to ask a few friends for suggestions.  I ended up with this educational toy.

Hope she'll play with it for a few minutes at least...LOL!

Have a great weekend, Everyone!!  I can't wait to see what you create, will take me a little while before I get to visit your blogs...

Cheers
Kary

Inspired Stamps HLO Character

This week the focus is on HLO Characters for all our Inspired Stamps projects.  I have chosen to use the cute HLO:Sundress Girl on my card.

I paper-pieced her dress and coloured her with Copic markers.  The Scripture paired with the HLO Girl is from Draw Near set.  This is one of my favourite Scripture verses.

Here's a closer look at the Scripture verse:

May you experience the Grace of God and share this with others always.

Take care!

Go. See. Do.

YAY, for Friday!  Got home from work today and put this card together.  I was sorting out my stamps and realised I have so many Itty Bittys which have not been inked :)  So, it's an Itty Bitty card today.

I had a bit of fun putting this card together.  The Itty Bittys I used are Go.See.Do and On This Journey Together.  I'm also liking the orange and blue colour combo.  Guess you can see I'm dreaming of a holiday to go, see and do!

I think my card works for this sketch.  I've not played along the Unity challenge for a long while.

I hope you'll have a great weekend!  I know I can't wait to ink up more stamps and do nothing else:)

Enjoy!

Inspired Stamps Scripture Card

The Inspired Stamps project today is a Scripture card.  I suppose one can never have enough Scripture cards to give away.  Times when words fail me, it is always most appropriate to let the Word of God speak.  My card for today, uses the Scripture sentiment from the Thanksgiving set.

Just the other day, a close friend I have not talked to for awhile, contacted me. His wife has just been diagnosed with 4th stage stomach cancer, and they are so devastated.  There were no symptoms and regular medical check-ups did not uncover anything.  I really felt their pain and sadness.  It was also so hard for them to explain to their 3 young girls mum isn't well.

I could only offer to pray for them, and call them regularly as I live so far away.  This incident also reminded me how fragile life is, and to look to God.  Despite illness, difficulties in life, God is still in control.  He is Good, and His lovingkindness never fails.  I hope these friends of mine will find God in this difficult period of their lives.  Please help to pray for them.

Thank you for visiting me. Take care!

Friends For Life

I'm so happy it's Friday, and finally a chance to sit down and make a card.  Work has been so busy, and it feels so good to forget that for a little while.

I really love this image and sentiment by Angie Blom, from Vicki, Catherine & Leica Girls stamp set.  I'm pretty much a person who makes friends easily, but to have friends for life is a real blessing.  These are friends, who have been there for me through the good and difficult times.  I really thank God for them.  Here's a card dedicated to my "Friends for LIFE".

I did some colouring and paper piecing, and stamped the background with Classified Newsprint for some interest.  Last weekend, my friend and I went to a WA craft show, and I bought some metal leaf to try.  I adhered that to the little arrow wood veneer.

Hope you like the card :)

Happy weekend!

Thank You

The Waltzing Mouse Stamps Pajama Party last week was so fun.  I didn't want it to end :)  It was good that there was a sketch challenge, so I could save it for this weekend.

Here's my little card:

I used a few sets of stamps for this card. The sentiment and frame are from Country Labels No.4, the flowers are from You're a Doll, and the little folk art beside the sentiment is from Folk Art Medallion set. I love how the different sets go together quite well.

Here's a little close up on the flowers:

Thank you for visiting me.  Have a great week ahead!
