Daisy Doodles Challenge #39 - School Time

It seems like I've taken a loooong break from blogging... so it's good to be back.  I had a great time in Chicago but more about that in a later post.  Today's card is for the new Daisy Doodles Challenge #39, with a School theme.  I have to say this is not entirely my thing, as I don't have any friends with young kids.  So, this is my best shot {grins}.

A thoroughly simple card to put together.  I used all images from the Daisy Doodles School Time set.  I printed the images, coloured them with copic markers & cut them out and assembled them on the card.  I don't have any red markers and so I used the apple from the patterned paper instead.

Do check out the Daisy Doodles blog for all the challenge details and make sure you join us this week.

Have a fun week!!

Unity Friends with Flair (15 July)

Hi!  I'm writing this post from the airport lounge, waiting for my flight.  I guess this will be my last post for awhile, I'll be missing in action for a week or so.  But, I couldn't just leave without posting my FWF card (haha)..

It's a baby card.. I've always said I hardly ever make baby cards but this stamp was just too cute.  It's from the set Happy Everything.  I'm keeping this post really short...but please remember to check out the Unity blog for all the folks showcasing their cards.  Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win some stamps.

Ok, I gotta go now, my flight is about to board.

Have a great day!

Unity Friends with Flair (8 July)

Happy Friday!!  It's time again for Unity FWF.  Remember to hop along with us and comment along the way and you could be the winner of some Unity stamps.  See all the details here, at Unity's blog.

I've been waiting to pair up this Unity Jillibean Soup Itty Bitty stamp with the Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup bicycle paper, and here it is...

This looks just like the bicycle I've always wanted to own as a kid but it was just too big for me.  Still, I had many wonderful memories with my little bicycle growing up.  I think cycling is almost a thing of the past now, as kids don't cycle to school nor anywhere anymore due to the traffic.{sigh...grin...imagine missing out all the fun!}

If you like the bicycle Itty Bitty stamp, go check it out at Unity's store.  It's on special right now for just USD4.00 and if you are a KOM member, you get 25% discount on top of the special price.  Actually, it's a great time to purchase the Unity Itty Bitty stamps and past KOM kits as they are all on special now.

Oh and before I forget, have you seen the Unity challenge here?  The challenge calls for a card with one patterned paper, 1 twine/ribbon and 1 button.  I'm submitting this card for the challenge (hmm... I had my twine and ribbon together, hope it's ok though), and I hope you will play along too.

Right, I'm off to check out what everyone is sharing today...

Have a great weekend!

Waltzing Mouse Challenge #54

Hello again.  I'm not sure what was going through my head when I made this card.  I started out with a simple design in my head, and then I saw the gorgeous baker's twines on the table, and suddenly I'm into plaiting them. Then I felt it needed some blings.  So... the card above was the end result.  I'm not sure if I went overboard ;-)  Tell me what you think...I can take it... honestly!

This card was based on this sketch
at Waltzing Mouse's sketch challenge blog.  Come play along with us or check out all the entries, because I'm sure you'll be inspired!

Alright, I hope your day is Amazing!!

Ride of Your Life

One of my favourite things in life is rollercoaster rides.  Many years ago, when my brother and I visited Orlando, we'd hop on every ride in all the theme parks we visited.  It was one of our most memorable trips together.  So you can imagine how excited I was to see this stamp set from The Craft's Meow called "Life is a Carnival" and better still, to have won the set.  So cool!!

The above card was created with this sketch at TCM's blog:
I stamped the various images onto a ledger patterned paper and coloured them with some copic markers (using lighter colours).  I used the ticket stamp as a border strip and the sentiment frame was from Timeless Tags.

Thanks for visiting and have a Lovely day!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club & One More

Hi.  It's been a busy week, and I've hardly time to make any cards.  Today I'm sharing two cards made with some of my favourite MFT products.

First card is a simple one :

This card was based on this sketch:
I seem to have collected a lot of MFT Clearly Sentimental sets but I hardly ever get to use them because I love colouring and so all my cards are usually with images for colouring.  I decided to make a card which is pretty clean and simple with no colouring... oops I did colour the daisy.  Well, you get what I mean.

I am also submitting this card to Stampin' Sisters' challenge #96.  I am so encouraged by Peggysue's sharing and I thought the sentiment "The best journey always leads us home" is appropriate, in the sense that the journey of our lives should always lead us back to the One who loves us so.

Since I'm sharing MFT cards, here's one more :
...with my favourite Jolinne image, and I had such a great time colouring her.  It was certainly the best thing to do when the worries of this life crowd in.

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope your day is filled with joy.

First Card
Stamps : MFT Clearly Sentimental about The Journey
Other : MFT Die-namics Dizzy border, Upsy Daisy & High Tea Party Doily

Second Card
Stamps : MFT Jolinne I Love you this much, MFT PI With all of my Heart (sentiment)
Papers : Lilybee Designs Picket Fence 6x6
Other : Spellbinders, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, MFT Die-namics Leafy Flourish, Uni ball Signo white pen, The Twinery Caribbean, Zva Creative blings

Daisy Doodles Summer Challenge #37

It's time for a new challenge at the Daisy Doodles challenge blog.  The theme this week is all about Summer and I think it's a really fun one ;)

For my card, I chose the daisy flip flops (LOVE this image!!) from the Summer Fun digi set.  I coloured it with some copic markers (B00, BG10 & Y21 & Y17) then cut it out using Spellbinders Label One die.  The flip flops image was then stacked on top of another Label 16 die.  Added a sentiment and some faux stitching and the card is done.

I hope you'll join us this week, don't forget that you'll get a chance to win some Daisy Doodles image!  Look forward to see your creations.

Unity Friends with Flair (1 July)

Hello Friends!  It's that time of the week again, for Unity Friends With Flair.  Check the Unity blog for all the fabulous Unity fans participating.  Visit their blogs and leave a comment for your chance to win some Unity stamps!

Here's my card:

I know, it's a really simple card today. It took less than 10 minutes to put together. The last few days, I've sat at my table staring at the beautiful craft supplies but with absolutely zero desire to make anything.  Do you have days like mine?

I really wanted to have a card to share with FWF.  A recent email from a friend came to mind, we were discussing friendships.  She asked if friendships need to go through the test of fire before we know if they will survive and last.  So very true!  I pulled out this Unity sentiment I've had for a long time and made this card.  I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point - it is true isn't it, that we meet many people along this journey of life, but true friends touch our lives and leave a footprint in our hearts forever.

Thank you for visiting me today, your encouraging comments always mean a LOT to me.

{{Hugs}}
