Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop with Unity Stamp

Hello Friends!  Welcome to the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop organised by Coffee Loving Cardmakers. I'm joining the fun with a couple of Unity projects.

It's amusing to be making summer projects when it's beginning to get colder in the Southern Hemisphere as we approach winter.  Nevertheless, coffee and tea are my constant companions no matter what the season is :)

My first card is a coffee card.  I used the Unity stamp Coffee Side By Side and coloured the image with copic markers.

My next card is of course with tea as the main image using the Unity stamp set Cup of Tea.

Riding into the Sunset

I was inspired to colour this gorgeous image today.  Woke up this morning and had these colours on my mind :)  Yeah, I know, I have not played any Unity Colour challenge before, I think, so here's my first.

The image says it all, I suppose, and there's no need for any embellishments to finish off the card.  Easy!

Maybe, I'll try the sketch challenge next.. LOL!

You've Got Heart - Growing In Unity Day 2

Welcome back to Day 2 of Growing In Unity with me!  If you are here for the first time, you may like to check back on Day 1's post, here.  I hope you'll follow and comment on my posts for this week for a chance to win Two Itty Bittys of your choice.

I simply adore Unity Itty Bittys and this cute bunny caught my eye.  It's absolutely adorable!  The set is called You've Got Heart.

Here's my card:

The bunny was stamped on Neenah cardstock, coloured with Copic markers and cut out.  The sentiment is stamped directly on the pretty patterned paper from October Afternoon.

Tuesday Trigger - Hello

I love this Tuesday Trigger photo!  Something about butterflies and the colours that are so appealing.  I thought it would be fun to use whatever stamp that's on my desk for this challenge.

No butterflies!  It was the first thing I thought of but I didn't have any butterflies on my desk.  After lots of false starts (do you have those?), I arrived at this...

I love the colours on the trigger photo and tried to have them all on this card.  It was quite some challenge but I really enjoyed creating this card.  I hope you can see in this, a little of how what goes in my head (all the bursts of colours and emotion) when I first saw the trigger photo.

Unity Friends with Flair (09.12.2011)

What a busy week it's been, I'm glad Friday is here.  Time for Unity FWF!  Be sure to visit the Unity blog and check out the list of participants today - it's something I always look forward to.

It's a CAS card - it's pretty fun to make a really simple card sometimes. I used the stamps from KOM Nov 2011 here, and some quick colouring with copic markers (RV29 - houses, B00 - cars, R35 & R37 - heart).

I reckon this card qualifies for the KOM Sketch challenge this month as well.  It's a really nice sketch this month and so many possibilities.

Can you see the shimmer on the sand?

I had an awesome surprise this week because my June KOM arrived early!!  YAY!!  I really love the summer inspired images.  So, no suprises that my card has that fabulous image I've been dying to ink up eversince the Kit was revealed!  I stamped the image on a white cardstock and coloured it with copic markers and cut it out.  I stamped the image again with the help of a Stamp-a-ma-jig on the patterned paper and popped the cut out image above it. The sentiments are from 3 separate stamps (any guesses how I got the word "on"?) and I cut them apart to form the words I wanted.

Today, I have a card made to play along with CAS-usal Fridays challenge.  My card recipe is Emboss, Felt, Twine, and here it is:

Emboss = embossed the pattern paper using an impression plate
Felt = the green felt grass
Twine = jute twine around the focal image

The card didn't take long to make, I did some really quick colouring on the digital image, cut out the stamped sun & cloud image, die-cut the felt grass and made a little sentiment tag.  The end result was a summery card.

Unity KOM Sketch Challenge

 

Hi Everyone!  My card today is created using the Unity June KOM Sketch found here.  If you have some Unity KOM stamps, I'd like to invite you to play along and you could win some stamps!  I had some new Jillibean Blossom Soup papers and couldn't wait to use them.  The image and sentiment used are from the May KOM kit and I did some paper piecing on the dress.  Love the sketch!

It's Time for Unity Friends With Flair

Today, I'm sharing a card with an image from the May Kit of the Month set.  If you like the image and the kit, you can visit the Unity website to find out more and how you can subscribe.

I started by stamping the image with Memento Rich Cocoa on a pink cardstock and coloured the heart with Copic Marker RV11, a dusty pink.  I cut out the image using Spellbinders Labels 12.  I made another cut on the music notes paper with Labels 12.  Then I adhered the music notes patterned paper onto the cardbase with pop dots (1/8") and line up the cut image and adhered it to the cardbase, giving it like a shadow box effect.  I also made a paper flower with the same patterned paper (using a 1-3/4" circle punch) and adhered it underneath the heart together with a lace trim and baker's twine.  Then I cut a frame using the same pink cardstock and adhered it to the patterned paper as shown. Lastly added a row of pearls to finish off the card.

Unity Friends with Flair

Hello Everyone!! It's Friday again and time for Unity Friends with Flair!!  Click on the link here to view everyone who is participating this week.  I look forward to Friday's FWF because there's always fabulous creations to inspire me.

I have a fast and easy card today.  It looks like a bit of effort but it's really simple.  Here's the card:

I stamped the bird image using the kissing method - first I inked up the bird image with Distress Ink Tea Dye and then inked the Giving It All Meaning text stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa and kissed the two images.  This allows the text image to transfer to the bird stamp.  Then I stamped the bird image on a piece of patterned paper.  To add a little interest, I embossed the paper using Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, added some Distress Ink Antique Linen all over the paper without removing the Spellbinders die.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment at the bottom right corner.

Joyful in Hope

I don't know who Malcolm Sargent is, but I think his words make sense and are relevant.  In midst of tension brought upon by political rumours and religious debates, I wonder if we will ever experience real peace and harmony where I live.  It is really sad that some of us are not really at home in the land of our birthplace.  But, we won't give up hope, that someday this land and its people will embrace each other's differences and learn to live together.

I made this card, as a reminder that we need to persevere in life, and to place our hope and trust in the Lord.  Despite trouble times, we can find joy and the strength to live.  I am also encouraged by Chris Olsen's sharing based on Psalm 121:2-4 here.

 

I used two Unity stamps in my stash which have not been inked before.  The teacup is from KOM Dec 2010 and the sentiment is from the Faith set. The teacup image was stamped on a piece of Pink Paislee patterned paper and the sentiment onto a white cardstock using Versafine Vintage Sepia.  

With this card, I'm playing along with Stampin' Sisters in Christ's challenge #89 as well as ATU's challenge #31.

Unity Friends with Flair

Finally, Blogger is working and we can all post our FWF cards!!!  ;)  I'm really into CAS the past few days, so here's my card using the Bella Fiori set with sentiment from Happy Everything and a butterfly from KOM April 2011.  I stamped all images with Memento Markers/Ink Pads in various colours and added some shading with copic markers.  Then I drew some lines to frame the images, plus adhered the felt leaves on one of the flowers... and done!

It's already Saturday morning where I am, and I'm about to dash out the door to meet some friends.  I can't wait to see what all of you have posted.  Be back to check it out.

Rainbow & Mushrooms

It's Friday here, and I can't believe the week has gone by so quickly.  I've been trying hard to do some spring cleaning around my craft space.  I'm such a hoarder - I find it hard to resist buying those gorgeous papers and I end up not using them because they look so pretty and I'm almost afraid to cut them up. Plus I have too many stamps!  I realised 2010 was the year I went crazy buying stamps, and some are still uninked.  Are you anything like me?

After reorganising the stamps, I decided to make a card using stamps which have not been inked.  Unity has a perfect challenge to help me along - making a card from the oldest and newest Unity stamps.  I pulled out my oldest (KOM Feb 2010) Unity stamp set and my newest one (KOM Dec 2010) and made this card:

Making Brads...

I know this tool has been around for sometime, I've been wondering if it was worth buying, and after a long while, I decided to purchase it.  It's the i-top from Imaginisce.  This tool is a lot of fun, and for starters, I bought just the medium sized brad daddies and a medium punch.  There are so many fun accessories which one can make with this tool, like badges, headbands, etc.  Guess I'll try those after I've had more practice making brads.

Here's a card I made, with my current favourite papers from Cosmo Cricket:

 

Made a flower with the medium sized brad & the flower petals were made with the i-top medium punch (see picture above).  I think it's quite addictive as one can make so many custom brads.
