Monochromatic Card

Do you love monochromatic cards?  I seldom think monochromatic but today's Inspired Stamps assignment is a monochromatic theme.  Not sure if my attempt is totally monochromatic, but it was fun.

I masked the church image and stamped the New Names of Jesus background stamp over it.  I sponged some Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the edges of the image piece.  I coloured the March Hymn Girl and fussy cut it out and adhere to the card with foam adhesive.

No Fears

Hello Friends!  It's been a long week of work, and I'm ready for the weekend!!  Friday is a day I look forward to every week because it's time to hop with my Unity FWF friends, and to check out the Unity Sale...

Last weekend was Amazing!  My brother was in town for a short visit with a good friend of ours, and while we were away for the weekend, I found out that I was invited to be part of the Unity Design Team!  I can't thank all of you enough for the sweetest wishes, I guess you can imagine I was over the moon!  I really look forward to work with such a wonderful group of talented ladies.

A little bit about the weekend trip - we went south to a little town called Denmark and the surrounding area. Yupe, I bet most people may not know, Denmark is a place south of Perth and it's beautiful.  Along the way, we stopped by a National Park, and my energetic brother made us climb up the hill to see the Balancing Rock and the Granite Skywalk.  The climb was exhausting for me, totally unfit!! But, I'm glad I did it - the view was lovely and the experience was unforgettable.  One needs a strong heart with no fear of heights to climb the 7m ladder up to the Granite Skywalk.

Here's the Phyllis Harris - I have No Fears card for this week, and I think that's kinda how I felt standing on top of the hill and marveling at the view...

And, of course I have to share some of the beautiful places we went to.  Hope you enjoy them.

Porongurup National Park - just before the climb uphill
After 2.2km hiking uphill, we arrived at the Balancing Rock
I didn't take this pic, but this is the Granite Skywalk climb not far from the Balancing Rock

There, I'm sure you'd love to visit Western Australia after seeing all these photos, huh.

Thanks for visiting me, have a wonderful Friday and weekend!!

Inspired Stamps March 2014 Release Sneak Peek

Welcome to the Inspired Stamps March Release Sneak Peek! This month Antoinette has some Amazing stamps for those who love Art Journaling or any Mixed Media art.  But, not to worry, it doesn't stop there, because you can easily use the stamps for cards as well.

I used this sweet girl from the Hymn Girls January - Confession & Humility and paired it with the 2x2 Scripture from Deut 31:8.  I sponged the girl image with some Distress Ink Vintage Photo and popped it up on foam adhesive on the card.  Really simple!

Remember the new Release will be available on the Inspired Stamps store this Friday at noon time.  There is an offer as well for the Hymn Girls, buy 5 get 6th free! To see more Sneak Peeks, please visit the Inspired Stamps Blog.

Thank you for visiting me.

WMS March Pajama Party

Hello Friends!  I have been eagerly waiting for the Pajama Party to start.  It's been a little while since I played with my WMS stamps.  Life has been so busy!

I can't play along with the first challenge as my WMS Cutting Edge dies haven't arrived.  But that's ok, cos there's something for everyone.  I don't know anyone personally who celebrates St Patrick's Day but it's always fun to find a cause to celebrate.  So, here's my card:

I used the digital freebie and created a vintage-like card.  The card base was stamped with Crackle Mini stamp all over.  The sentiment is from Big Day Today set, and the little feather is from Funky Feathers set.

Next, I have a card which I think my mum would make.  My mum loves to sew and she loves little sweet floral prints on fabric, in happy colours.  She has such great love for flowers.

I picked the floral print paper for the background, and the big rose as the focal image of the card.  I used 3 different stamp sets for this card - the sentiment from Fine Feathers, the fancy sentiment label from Folk Art Medallion and the rose from my all-time favourite set Roses In Bloom.

I added a touch of glitter on the edges of the rose petals, which doesn't show on the photo.  The rose is coloured with Copic Markers (R30, 32, 35, 37, 39, Y02, R02, W2).

I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Thanks for visiting me.

You're My Universe

It's been a long time since I posted cards made with Paper Smooches stamps.  Today, as I hear news of another air disaster, this time involving a carrier which I fly with regularly to see my parents, I can't help but think how fragile life is.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those on board.

Strangely it gave me an inspiration to create this card.  I used the Space Cadet set and Borderlicious set for the card.  Took out my Copic markers and used lots of them to colour the images :)  Colouring is always therapeutic for me.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend wherever you are.  Keep safe, and treasure this life.

Thank you for visiting me.

Julie's Blogoversary Blog Hop

Happy Friday!!  Welcome to Julie's Blogoversary Blog Hop - Celebrating Friendship!  Once again, I'm so honoured to be invited to join Julie and friends in this Blog Hop celebration. I'm sure you came by from Paula's blog, but if you didn't, you might want to start from the beginning, i.e. Julie's blog.

I met Julie through Unity FWF, and I am always inspired by her posts.  I love to read about her beautiful dogs, her cool motorbikes, check out her gorgeous cards and also her work with the aged folks.  It strikes a chord with me, as my father suffers from Alzheimers and I know Julie understands the challenges my family faces.

We also share a common love for Unity stamps, so today, I'm sharing a few Unity creations.  As you hop along with us, please make sure you leave a comment on each of the blogs because Julie has organised some fabulous prizes hidden in the blogs.  The prizes include the following:

2 $10 gift certificates from Unity Stamp Company (donated by Unity!)
3 sets of winner's choosing from The Cutting Cafe (donated by Regina Easter)
A ribbon bundle from 3 Girl JAM
Timeless Twine -- Rainbow Party Pack
Close To My Heart Stamp Set
Close To My Heart Stamp Set
$15 Pinque Peacock gift certificate (donated by Jessica Shelton-Buffa)
Embossing folders (2)
2 $25 Gift certificates for My Scrap Chick store (donated by My Scrap Chick)
Websters' Pages 6x6 Sweet Notes pad, an embellishment pand and a Websters Pages Stamp set, plus a Unity Cloud background stamp -- donated by Lucy Evans

Here's my first card:

I used the Sentiment kit by Lisa Arana, Everything Wonderful.  Indeed, I thank God for online crafty friends like you, for there was a point in my life where you made a difference, with your sweet words of encouragement, they made life a little easier to bear.

Next, I have to share one of my favourite stamp sets ever.  It's pretty obvious that I love Phyllis Harris stamps and here's an old favourite, Your Wings Exist.

No sentiment on the front of the card, so the image takes centre stage.

I hope you like the cards.  Don't forget to leave a comment and be sure to stop by all the blog participants.  Your next stop is Erin & Ruth's blog.

Thank you for visiting me.

Loving Thoughts

It's been a long while since I played with inks and embossing.  Although I love the beautiful effect, I don't really fancy ink on my fingers.  This is a simple card, and it's fitting for the Anything Goes Inspired Stamps week.

I used the set Comfort, and stamped the flower with Versamark on white cardstock, and heat embossed it.  Then I applied Distress Inks Festive Berries, Tumbled Glass and Mustard seed all over the cardstock, and sprinkled droplets of water on it. I added a striped washi tape over the background, and placed the sentiment above it.

Please visit the Inspired Stamps Blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.  Don't forget to check out the 31 Days of March art Journaling posts too.

Thank you for visiting me.
