Inspired Stamps - Christmas

This week's Inspired Stamps project is about Christmas.  I just couldn't resist using the Luke 2:14 mini set again - love this set. (Sorry the image is not the best, it was late at night when the photo was taken)

The image was stmaped on white Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers (YG91, G94, G99, Y38, Y21, E13, E15, E18).  Can you see the sewing on the card?  I've been having fun with a new sewing machine;)

Keeping this post really short, so you'll have a chance to visit the Inspired Stamps Blog for more Christmas ideas.

Have a great day!

Winner from GIU week & Never Will His Love Forget

Hello Friends!  Thank you SO much for your support during my Unity GIU week.  I am truly appreciative of every comment you've left me, and a big Thank you and Welcome to some of you who signed up to follow my blog.  I am just so humbled and encouraged at the same time that you enjoy my work.

And... the winner from the comments of my GIU week goes to Lindsey!!  I had random.org pick out a winning entry.  Congrats, Lindsey!!!  Please let me know which Itty Bitty sets you'd like so I can organise it for you.

Just a short post today, to share a card I made sometime back.  I used the beautiful Memory Box Catalina Wreath die, where I cut it off from the cardbase, coloured it with Copic Markers and then placed it back on the card.  The die-cut was adhered to another white cardstock just behind the cardfront using foam adhesive.  A few tiny gems were adhered to the flower centres.  The sentiment is a quote from Amy Carmichael taken from the Layers of Colors stamp set by Nina Brackett, which is now retired.

I just love these intricate dies and it looks pretty amazing when you add a little bit of colour and shading.  I hope you like the card.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Have a great day!

Sending Blessings - Growing In Unity Day 5

Happy Friday!!  I can't believe how fast this week has gone.  It's my last day of hosting the Growing In Unity week.  Today, I am delighted to share another set from my favourite Unity line - i.e. stamps by Phyllis Harris!  I absolutely LOVE all of Phyllis' stamps!!  I wish I can draw like her :-)

Picture of Every Breath

The set I used is called Every Breath and I can't find the right words to describe what I love about her.  Perhaps the card speaks it better than I can.

I made this card for my friend's daughter who needs a birthday card for her friend.  Her friend's favourite colour is purple, and so I gave this girl a purple dress.  She was coloured with Copic Markers (Dress - V12, V15, V17, Colourless blender; Hair - Y38, YR24, Y21; Skin - E50, E01, E13, R20; Ground - E41, E43).  The edges were sponged with Memento Summer Sky.

The card is cut with Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles and the patterned paper is from American Crafts, Amy Tangerine line.

What a week it's been sharing my Unity creations with you.  I've had a blast!  Be sure to leave your comment for a chance to win two Itty Bittys of your choice.  I'll announce the winner on Sunday evening.

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.  I am so blessed!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs

Inspired Stamps - Thankful

Welcome to this week's Inspired Stamps project!  Today, we are focusing on the theme "Thankful".  There are so many things to be thankful for in life.  Sometimes, we just need to pause and consider the many ways we've been blessed.

As I look back over the past weeks since I moved to Perth, I can't help but be so grateful - for such kind and wonderful friends who've helped me settle in, and for finding a job rather quickly.  God is good!

I've used the Scripture sentiment from the lovely set Thank You and the flower from Thinking of You set on my card.  Don't you think the new releases are just Awesome?

Make sure you check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more projects from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a Blessed day!

What's Cooking? Growing In Unity Day 4

Hello Friends!  It's Day 4 of my GIU week.  It's a fun card today, using the cute Unity Stamp set "What's Cooking?". Everytime I look at this set, I can't help but smile.  I'm not much of a cook but being an Asian, food is always such a big part of our lives.  It's our way of spending time and celebrating with friends and family.

Picture of What's Cooking?

Here's my card:

I coloured the chef with Copic Markers (R32, R35, R37, BG10 and N3 & N1). Easy peasy card, and I added some buttons with a polka dot fabric tape.  To finish off the card, I added some white stitch lines around the edge.

Thank you for visiting me today.  Make sure you comment along, and you'll be in the draw for two Itty Bittys of your choice.

Hope... Growing in Unity Day 3

Hi, and welcome back to Day 3 of Growing In Unity week!  If you are visiting for the first time, you can always click the links back to Day 1 and Day 2's postings.  Don't forget to leave a comment and you will be in the draw to win Two Itty Bittys of your choice.  I'll announce the winner on my blog at the end of the week.

Today's card has a slightly different style, more vintage and distressed.  The stamp sets I've used are "Dream To Be" and "Wood Grain Script"  I think these are such versatile sets.

First I stamped the Wood Grain script, with Memento Desert Sand and the edges with Memento Espresso Truffle.  The edges are torn and I sponged some Memento Rich Cocoa around it.  The Bird image was stamped using Memento Espresso Truffle and coloured with Copic Markers (Leaves YG61, YG63, YG67; Bird Y38, BG02, YG11, Y21).  The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye, embossed with an embossing folder, and some sponging on the embossed areas.

I hope you like the card.  Be sure to visit me again tomorrow for another Unity project.

Thanks for stopping by.

You've Got Heart - Growing In Unity Day 2

Welcome back to Day 2 of Growing In Unity with me!  If you are here for the first time, you may like to check back on Day 1's post, here.  I hope you'll follow and comment on my posts for this week for a chance to win Two Itty Bittys of your choice.

I simply adore Unity Itty Bittys and this cute bunny caught my eye.  It's absolutely adorable!  The set is called You've Got Heart.

Here's my card:

The bunny was stamped on Neenah cardstock, coloured with Copic markers and cut out.  The sentiment is stamped directly on the pretty patterned paper from October Afternoon.

Be sure to check back tomorrow, for another project.  Thank you so much for visiting me.

Have a wonderful day!

No Dream Is Too Big - Growing In Unity Day 1

Hello Friends! I'm so excited to be the Growing In Unity (GIU) girl this week!  I can't believe how quickly time flies.  I hope you'll enjoy the Unity projects I'll be sharing this week, and I'd like to invite you to follow and comment along for your chance to win Two Itty Bittys of your choice.  I'll pick a winner at the end of the week and announce it on Sunday.

All of you know how much I love colouring and Unity stamps...  so you can expect a whole week of some of my favourite Unity stamps and of course some Copics colouring ;).  My cards are generally simple, and I love adding patterned papers and die-cuts.

I made this card before I moved from Kuala Lumpur to Perth.  It was a little card just for me, to remind myself that one is never too old to pursue new dreams.   It's quite a challenge to move to a place I've never been to, and especially to work full-time again after a long break.  But, it's been pretty smooth so far.

Picture of determination
I love this little set from Phyllis Harris named Determination - and guess what, it's on sale right now!

Thanks for visiting me today!  Please check back tomorrow for another Unity project.

Take care,
Kary

Inspired Stamps - August Sneak Peek Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Inspired Stamps Sneak Peek for the August release!  Today, Jamie and I will be showcasing Two new sets - Elegant Dotty Alphabet and Luke 2:14.  These two new sets are Awesome, and I love, love them!

On this mini card (4x4"), I've used both the sets.  Luke 2:14 is a mini set and it's perfect for making Christmas cards, tags and notecards.  Love the sweet little image.  I also used the Elegant Dotty Alphabet on the background, spelling out the word PEACE, in red and green.

I have a second card to share, using the Alphabet set.  On this card, I used the set for the background.  I arranged the alphabets on a large block and inked it up using different Memento inks and stamped it on a piece of grey cardstock.  You can also use the Alphabet creatively by masking off the first letter on a sentiment, like what I did here:
I masked off the letter "S" and stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock.  Then I inked up the Dotty Alphabet "S" and stamped it.

I hope you are excited about this release as I am!  There are so many Amazing sets which you will love.

Thank you for visiting me.
Have a fabulous day!

Inspired Stamps - My Style

Happy Thursday!  Today's Inspired Stamps post, we welcome four new Design Team members as well as sharing a little about our cardmaking style.  Make sure you stop by the Inspired Stamps blog to meet and  welcome the new Design Team.  I can't wait to see their awesome work!

If you have been following my blog, you'll know I absolutely LOVE colouring.  When I first started stamping and cardmaking, I was so afraid of colouring and I stayed clear of open images.  Somewhere along the line, I bought some colour pencils and started practising.  Then, about 2 years ago, I read about Copic Markers, and I bought a few to try and you could say the rest is history.  I was never really good at colouring, but with Copics I am amazed at the results one can achieve.

Inspired Stamps has really some Wonderful character images.  I'm sharing my favourite today, Esther's Bouquet with a sentiment from the Winter Ruth set.  My cardmaking style is pretty simple.  I just love the stamped image as my focal point, and I love to use die-cuts and patterned papers too.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I'd love to hear what your style is too.

Take care!
Kary

Inspired Stamps - Character and Scripture

Hello Friends!  Today's Inspired Stamps DT assignment is to use Character and Scripture on a project.

On a white cardstock (I used the textured side) I stamped the Scripture sentiment from "Guard Your Heart" stamp set, with Distress Marker Shabby Shutters.  Then I stamped His Little Ones : Thankful Boy with Memento Rich Cocoa just above the Scripture sentiment, and coloured the image with some soft colours with Copic Markers.

Make sure you click over to the Inspired Stamps Blog to see the Gorgeous artwork from the Design Team. Enjoy!

A short update - I'm starting to find my way around Perth, and found a place where I could get some patterned papers, buttons and ribbon ;)  I'm making some progress, I guess.

Have a great day!
