I seldom create backgrounds that are elaborate as most of my work are fast and easy due to my busy life. Today I took a little extra time to create a background that has several techniques inspired by the Class Beyond Basics Backgrounds.
The Altenew products I used are
Mandala Die set |
Thanks die |
Daisy Stamp set |
Here's my card
Using the Mandala die, I die-cut it with kraft cardstock. Then I placed the die-cut over a piece of watercolour cardstock and spritzed some gold, red and green shimmer colours. When everything is dry, I took the die-cut and added Versamark all over the mandala section and gold heat embossed it and adhered it to the watercolour cardstock.
Next for the sentiment, I die-cut the word "Thanks" on white and black cardstock so that I have 3 pieces for each of them. I stacked and adhered the white together then the black. On the white die-cut I pressed the Versamark inkpad over it and heat embossed with orange embossing powder. I repeated this twice. Then I adhered the orange die-cut to the black and offset it a little.
For the flower, I used the Daisy stamp with Summer Afternoon inks and used Prismacolors for added definition near the flower centre. I stamped the leaves with Green Fields inks. All the images were then fussy cut out.
I adhered the sentiment to a strip of black and gold cardstock and placed the daisy and leaves as shown. To finish off the card, I added some floral sequins with silver stickles in the centres.
It has been fun to churn out the cards for the AECP assignments this weekend and I had so much fun with the various techniques.
See you!

What a wonderful card Kary - love that way you have embossed only the mandela in the background.
Do hope all is well with you and yours and I am so glad you had time to craft this weekend
Blessings
