For You

Today's card is another simple one.  The main image is from Melanie Muenchinger's beautiful floral set called Stately Flowers 1.  It's an easy flower to colour, I coloured the petals with Copic Markers R35, R32 and R30, adding first the darker shade R35 as shown, and then R32 and finally filling in the flower with R30.  The flower centre is coloured with Y21 and Y17, the leaves are coloured with YGYG95, YG17, YG11 and the background with G000.  The tiny sentiment is from Melanie's other set A Year of Flowers.  If you know Melanie, she illustrates such beautiful floral stamps which I absolutely love.

Did you know that Melanie is giving away a signed copy of her book A Year of Flowers this week at CAS-ual Fridays (CFC#46)?  That's so exciting and I just can't wait to play along.  Thought I should be more organised this week and not forget the deadline ;)  When I was thinking of a song, the one that comes to mind was one from The Sound of Music called My Favourite Things - one of my favourite things is stamping and colouring flowers.  Flowers just seem to brighten and cheer my day!

Here's another look at the card:

Have a lovely weekend!

All Smiles

Hello again!  It's a simple card today, using the bicycle image from KOM July 2011.  I stamped the bicycle once on white cardstock and then a second time on the same cardstock without reinking.  The first stamped image was cut out using Spellbinders Classic Scallop Ovals die and the second image was fussy cut out just around the oval border.  The patterned papers are from Fancy Pants.

Just a short post today and linking it to the Unity Friends with Flair hop.  Hope you are keeping well.

Have a nice day!

Bonjour - A CAS card

The Matterhorn
A few weeks ago, I was in Switzerland for a 2 week vacation.  I had a wonderful time with my friends and we had so much fun together.  One of the places we visited was Gruyeres, and I saw a shop display that really captured my attention - see the pic below:

In that same week, Waltzing Mouse had their new stamps release and I found an amazing set called French Country.  I think it's obvious, isn't it, that it reminded me so much of the shop display above.

I just love the way Claire's sets are always so unique and fun.  Here's a card with the chicken and sentiment from French Country set, and the frame and flourishes from Florentine Frippery set.  Just a simple card ;)

I'm playing along the Waltzing Mouse sketch challenge #90 this week.  I was going to link this to the CAS-ual Fridays CFC45 challenge as well, but I'm lost track of time ;)

Have a great day!

Inspired Stamps Sneak Peek - March 2012 release

Hello Friends!  I'm SO excited to share with you a sneak peek of the new Inspired Stamps set aptly named "Guard Your Heart" to be released this Friday at noon.  This set is so very dear to my heart - the sentiments and Scriptures Antoinette has incorporated into the set are just perfect.  I have chosen to showcase my favourite image and Scripture for today's card.

It has been a year filled with challenges for my family, and one thing I have learnt is we need to guard our hearts at all times so we can remain faithful to God and grow in our faith.  Our hearts can be so easily influenced by many things, and we need to constantly check it against the word of God and with much prayer.

I am so in-love with shades of pinks lately and I wanted this card to be special and to tell the story that when all is right with our hearts, so will our lives be.  The Copic Markers I've used are R30 and R32 to colour the heart and they match perfectly with the cardstock.  I've added some clear glitter on the heart image using the Atyou Spica Clear pen.  The pattern papers are from Fancy Pants and Webster's Pages.

Here's another look at the tiny hearts and the tag behind the image.

I hope I have sparked your interest in this gorgeous, meaningful stamp set "Guard Your Heart" which will be on sale this Friday at noon at the Inspired Stamps website.  And, as always, I look forward to read your feedback and comments - they surely brighten my day.

Take care.

Just For You

I must admit colouring this fuchsia is totally from my imagination ;)  But I suppose that's the fun in colouring, you can have flowers in any colours you fancy.  The fuchsias are from The Craft's Meow's lovely stamp set Celebrating You while the sentiment is from the stamp set Simply Delightful.  I coloured the fuchsias with Copic Markers - Leaves (YG21, YG23, YG25), Flowers (YR20, E000, B91, B93, B95), Outline (BG0000).  The card inspiration came from this Color Challenge for TCM's Birthday Bash:

Simply Jane

Breaking out my Simply Jane set today, and just having some fun with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  I embossed a piece of white cardstock with PTI Mehndi Impression plate.  Then the polka dots (using Polka Dots Basic II) were stamped using Distress Ink Mustard Seed and Memento Dandelion for two tones of yellow.  And I mimic the same for the silhouette with Copic Markers Y08 and Y13.  The frame from the set Simply Jane was stamped with Jenni Bowlin ink Speckled Egg.

My card was based on this Inspirational photo at Nichole's blog.

Have a great week!

Sunflowers

Sunflowers are such happy flowers, aren't they?  Just looking at them brings a smile always.  Today's card is in response to the Sketch challenge at The Craft's Meow.  It's part of their birthday celebration bash and I just love ALL of their new releases.  Can't wait for them to arrive.  The card above is based on this sketch, and I flipped it around for my card.

The image is from TCM's set Lovely Birds.  I coloured it with Copic Markers - Sunflowers (YR23, Y08, YR23, YR20), Leaves (YG21, YG23, YG25), Fence (E23, E25, E29), Birdhouse (E31, E33, E35, E37, E95, E97), Background (BG0000).  The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee Nantucket.

There's still time to join the challenge, if you'd like to, just check out the details at TCM's blog.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Take care!

Velveteen Stamping

So glad the weekend is here.  It's been too long since I last participated in the Hero Arts contest.  This month, I learnt a new technique from Shari Carroll called Velveteen Stamping and I just had to try it.  Here's my take:

Supplies used : Stamps - S5601 Newspaper Background, CG330 Flower Dot Pattern (w Distress Stain Picket Fence), CL496 Layered Flowers, CL495 Blossom Art, CL477 Delicate Leaf Clusters, CL508 Luscious Patterned Flowers & sentiment CL434 Just Find Me. Inks : Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa & London Fog,  Hero Hues - Cerulean, Mid-tone Stone Wash & Shadow Ink Soft Sand, Distress Ink Antique Linen.  Copic Markers : E00, E01, E93 & E95. Others : Stickles, twine, brad, Hero Arts lace, Hero Arts Layering paper Powder.

First, I stamped the Newspaper background on white cardstock with black ink.  Next, I inked up the Flower Dot Pattern stamp with Distress Stain Picket Fence and stamped it onto the same cardstock.  I heat set it dry, and then stamped the various flowers and leaves using various Hero Arts inks.  To give the edges some definition, I added Distress Ink Antique Linen.

For the Layered Flower, I stamped it twice onto white cardstock and coloured the images with Copic Markers.  I cut out the flower centre, curled it a little and adhered it to the layered flower. I also added some stickles in the centre for some sparkle.  The sentiment piece was stamped with the same Newspaper background with Memento London Fog first then the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black.

I had so much fun with this technique and it's great to find new ways of using the Distress Stain Picket Fence.

Thanks for visiting me.  If you would like to join the Hero Arts contest, be sure to check this post.

Happy Weekend!

Unity Friends with Flair (23.03.2012)

How has your week been?  Hope things are well.  It's all hearts today on my card using the stamp set "We Treasure You" by Joslyn Nielson.  I believe this was the incentive kit that came together with the December KOM 2011.  It's a lovely set.

I haven't used the sewing machine for a long time, and somehow it behaved itself and I managed to stitch the two hearts together.  The larger heart was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copic Markers BG10, BG11 and BG13.  The smaller heart was stamped using Jenni Bowlin's Speckled Egg ink.  I also handcut another heart with brown cardstock just a little bigger than the larger stamped heart.  The "Love you" sentiment was stamped directly on the Script cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black and I coloured the circles with BG11.

I can't wait to check out all the fabulous creations from all the Unity peeps in today's Unity Friends with Flair
Thanks for checking out my blog and your comments always make my day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

You Light Up My Life

I was really in need for a pick-me-up this week.  My well-loved die-cut machine broke and I was sad for awhile until I bought a replacement machine yesterday.  It's like I couldn't do anything for a few days.  But, when I saw the Paper Smooches inspiration photo above, I was inspired to create a card.  I love the white felt, pom-poms and the bright colours of the bunnies' ears.

I just had to break out the new Geo-Graphic set with the Chevron stamp - love it! I thought it would work as waves for the idea I had in mind.  I stamped the chevron three times in different colours using Memento Rose Bud, Dandelion and Bamboo Leaves.  The lighthouse, from Smoocheroos set, was stamped on glitter white felt and I added some Copic Markers to match the Chevron colours.  I stamped the cute prawn, from the Surf and Turf set just above the chevron and again on white cardstock.  I coloured the image on the white cardstock with Copic Markers YR02, YR04, YR21, YR23.  Then I fussy cut it and adhered onto the stamped image on my card.  The sentiment (from Smoocheroos set) was stamped on white cardstock and I wrapped the bright pink pom-pom trim around it.

I'm submitting this card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  If you have some Paper Smooches stamps or their free digis, do play along for some fun.

Take care!

Inspired Stamps - Character & Scripture

Do you have a favourite character from Inspired Stamps?  I do, mine is the little girl stamp called "His Little Ones - Girl Studying".  She is so easy to colour and I connect with her as I really LOVE to read.  A day in my life would not be complete unless there's some time for reading, even if it's just a few lines.

For my card, I have paired the Girl Studying with a favourite Scripture set "His Word" and I have chosen the much loved verse from Psalm 119:105.  The girl is coloured with Copic Markers - Skin (E000, E01, E11, R20), Hair (YR23, YR24, YR27), Outfit (RV02, RV23, RV25).  The patterned papers are from Fancy Pants Love Story collection.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog and the rest of the DT's blogs for more inspiration.

Have a fabulous day!

Waltzing Mouse Stamps Blog Party - 17.03.2012

Happy St Patrick's Day!!  We don't formally celebrate St Patrick's Day in Malaysia, but I think there is a small Irish community here that does, and Irish restaurants in the city have special events on this day.  I would love to visit Ireland someday and experience how the Day is celebrated...that would be Awesome!

Following the theme of the Blog Party, I have a card in shades of green.  It's a simple design and I used the set Candy Jar Christmas - Fillers and sentiment from Say It Loud.  I coloured the candies with Copic Markers (YG11, YG25, YG61, YG63, YG00, G00, G000) and the lid is inked with Memento Bamboo Leaves.  I adhered some Baker's Twine just underneath the lid of the jar and a bow with a gemstone. The top section of the card was embossed with a SU Embossing folder (Square Lattice) and the sentiment is stamped on the patterned paper.  To finish off the card, I added some flourish pearls and a tiny prima flower.

And, here's a little St Patrick's card using the Shamrock and St Patrick's Day label freebies at Waltzing Mouse's site:

Thank you for visiting me today. Do visit the Waltzing Mouse blog for the list of Blog participants.

Enjoy the Blog Party!

Unity Friends with Flair (16.03.2012)

Happy Friday!  So glad to join in today's Unity Friends With Flair post.  My card inspiration is from this Unity KOM sketch challenge:

and, here's my card:

I pulled out one of the earliest KOMs I purchased - June 2010 for this card.  I just love the cute birds on the tree branch, and they look ready to cheer anyone's day.  I coloured the birds with Copic markers and the tiny hearts are from the sentiment below.  I stamped a whole bunch of them, coloured and cut them out and randomly adhered them to the card.  I used Viva Decor Glitter-Liner (Holo Iridescent) all around the frame on the cardbase for some interest.  I love this glitter liner as it does not dry flat on the card.

In my last FWF post 2 weeks ago, I promised to pick out a winner from the comments, but in my haste to pack up and leave for my trip, I forgot to announce the winner.  I had random.org pick out a winner...and it is...

Blogger Ruby said...

I want to congratulate you as well. Your card is beautiful. I must check out this magazine as I have not seen it before this. Thanks for sharing your good news and magazine pages.

Inspired Stamps - Scripture Sentiment

I'm finally back from a two week vacation and it feels like I've been away from stamping for so long ;-)  Today's Inspired Stamps inspiration is to use a favourite Scripture sentiment on a card/project.  I have chosen the Scripture sentiment with a verse from Psalm 119:11 from the set "His Word" - I love this set.

Here's the card:

I wanted to add a little interest to the Scripture sentiment and I hope you like how it turned out.  I diecut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment in the centre with brown ink.  With the help of a stamp positioner, I worked out exactly the placement of sentiment on the red house die-cut and stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink.  Then I adhered it using pop dots onto the sentiment piece.  I just love the little heart in the centre of the red house die-cut.

Don't forget this week is a great time to be shopping at Inspired Stamps store as there is a voucher you can use to get 40% off one stamp set.

And, for more awesome inspiration, be sure to visit the blogs of the rest of the Design Team and the Inspired Stamps blog.

Have a lovely day!

Inspired Stamps - Easter Card

This week the Inspired Stamps focus is on Easter/Scripture projects.  I was inspired to make an Easter card!

The Stamp sets I used for the card are Be Still Silhouettes (the corner vine), 1" Flowers (the pink flowers) and Perfect Sentiments (sentiment).  The corner vine was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves onto a script cardstock. I selected two tiny flowers from the 1" Flowers set, stamped them onto white cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers RV00 and RV23.  The flowers were cut out and adhered on the vine.  The cross was made from 2 strips of kraft cardstock measuring 2-1/2 x 3/4" and 3-5/8 x 3/4" and embossed with a Woodgrain Impression plate.  A die-cut heart was adhered on the cross with some foam adhesive.  I added some white dash lines on the cross with a white gel pen as well as on the edges of the cardbase with a black pen. To finish off the card, I added three tiny pearls just underneath the sentiment.

Hope you like the card idea, and be sure to visit the Design team blogs for more inspiration.

Have a blessed day!

A Happy Birthday

It's another Birthday card to share today.  I love this happy MFT Pure Innocence - Sunshiny Day set, and I thought the happy colours of Echo Park's Splash papers go so well with the stamped image.  The cute PI was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copic Markers. I used the Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles to cut and emboss the image piece.  On the red cardstock just behind the stamped image, I  stamped the word celebrate with white pigment ink so that it didn't look too bare.  The sentiment was from PI Birthday Princess set cut with the Oval tab Die-namics.

This is another of my pre-scheduled posting.  Hope you like the card.

Have a gorgeous day!!

Happy Bird-day!

I made this card a little while back and realised I've never shared it on my blog.  I can't recall what inspired me to it, cos this card has more patterned papers on it than usual {LOL!}, but I kinda like how it turned out.  The stamp sets used are from Paper Smooches (My Peeps - bird and Sentiment Sampler - sentiment) and the seam binding was inked with Milled Lavender Distress Stain.

It's the last week of my vacation already, and how time flies!  Wishing you a Lovely day!

Cheers

Inspired Stamps - Shape Up

It's Thursday with Inspired Stamps, and the theme this week is "Shape Up".   Antoinette challenged us to use shapes on our project today.  I've decided to go CAS and the stamp sets I used are the new Journal Shapes and the 1" Flowers sets.

Journal Shapes
Stamp set : Journal shapes
The card measures 4.25 x 4.25".  I used the checker shape stamp from the set above and created a border for the card.  The sentiment just above the border is also from the same set.  To add a little colour to the card, I stamped the tiny rose from 1" Flowers set three times and coloured them with Copic markers (R21, R22, R24, E03, E05).

The bottom of the cardstock was punched with a Scallop border punch and I added some Viva Decor pearls on it.

Don't forget to check out all the other creative ideas from the Design Team & the Inspired Stamps blog.

Have a great week!
