Gratitude

I have always enjoyed the Mojo Monday sketches, and am so glad I get to play along this week.  I have some Verve stamps which I've not used often enough, and it was great to take them out.  And, I just felt like making a simple card (with no colouring) with just plain stamping.  It was a nice!

Love this sketch, and here's my card:

I just kept to the sketch cos I love everything about it.  The Verve sets I used are:
Bloom and Grow (the flowers in the background), Making a Statement (frame) and Beautiful You (sentiment).

Thank you for visiting me :)

New Mercies

Today's card has a story behind it.  I made this card for a friend of mine who recently lost a dear friend in a tragic road accident.  I sat there listening, so at a loss for words of comfort.  I guess when we lose someone we love, we'd think of all the words we should have said, the extra effort we should have made for the person and how angry we are at ourselves for not doing what we should have.  Nevertheless, God is good, and He is gracious towards us in many ways.  Without going into details, my friend did manage to catch up a little with her friend shortly before the accident, and that is a huge comfort.

I think I learnt something from this - to always appreciate the people who mean the world to us, to hold back words that hurt, and to always try to go the extra mile and be available for them.  After all, life is fragile and so very short.

The sentiment on the card, is a line from a wonderful old hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" which I so love.  I think it's fitting for the challenge at Simon Says Stamp, a place I'm starting to love, lots of fab products and great service I really appreciate.

Thanks for coming by today.  It means a lot!

Handmade flower

Hi, today I made a flower with tulle which I found on a trip down south recently.  I think it turned out quite well .  I wanted to make a card for the challenge at Stampin' Sisters and I thought the tulle flower would add a special touch to the card.

Here's my card :

I bought the sentiment stamp from Verve a couple of months back - I love the verse on it because in some ways it sums up what is important for me.

Have a wonderful day!
