Thanks

Hello!
Today's class is all about colour and it's my favourite thing to play with colours.

My inspiration is based on this fun photo.

The Altenew product I used is this cute die - Spring Shower Cover die.

Spring%20Shower%20Cover%20Die%20Set.jpg

Just a simple card with bursts of colours.

I die-cut a white cardstock and a kraft cardstock with the Spring Shower Cover die and saved all the die-cut pieces.  With copic markers I coloured some of the leaves and flowers.  The leaves are adhered back to the negative cover die-cut.  The flowers are stacked with the smaller die-cuts and adhered with foam adhesive.  To finish off the card, I added jewels on the flower centres and sprayed my favourite Sparkle shimmer spray from high.

I guess this is not my usual style but it's fun to try something different.

Thanks for visiting me, and
have a great day!

Mother's Day Card

I'm on a roll this weekend with the AECP assignments.

This next card is based on the techniques in the Beautiful Details class. Of all the classes I find this most challenging because I'm a fairly impatient cardmaker.  Most of the cards I make take 15 minutes or so to colour and put together.  This one took some time but I think I love the results.

The Altenew product I used are

Remember This Stamp Set - Altenew

Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set - Altenew

Peach Perfect Crisp Dye Ink - Altenew

The colouring medium I used are Copic markers with Prismacolor pencils.

I used only the outline stamps for the flower and leaf and stamped using Memento Desert Storm ink. This ink works really well with Copic markers.

The copic markers I used are R12, R11, R00 for the flower and YG25, YG23 and Y21 for the leaves. I selected a slightly darker shade of peach and soft yellow pencil for the flower and a darker shade of leaf green pencil. The idea is to add shading and fine lines to the imagse to give it more details than the markers could.

The background is a piece of watercolour cardstock. I sponged some Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and Squeezed Lemonade lightly and added some gold shimmer ink spritz with a small brush.

The sentiment is from the Wild Hibiscus set and I stamped it using the Peach Perfect ink.

I hope you like the card.

In the Mood for Colour

Colour makes me happy and I love creating with unexpected colours.

The Altenew class In the Mood for Color was so inspiring.

The products I used on my card are
6x8%20Sewn%20with%20Love.jpg

Die_Sewn%20with%20Love%20Die%20.jpg

Warm & Cozy Oval Set - Altenew

Green Fields Oval Set - Altenew - 1

I used the Warm and Cozy inks for the flower, and Green Fields ink for the leaves.  I find it easier to align the floral stamp if I die-cut the cardstock first with Sewn with Love die.

I love Orange flowers, something about its bright colour that gives energy :) I thought it would be fun to add some unexpected colours in the background to give the card more interest.

I used an old stencil and placed it above the stamped image and sponged some Distress Oxide inks (Tattered Rose, Shaded Lilac and Bundled Sage).  I wasn't sure if the colours will work but I think they turned out pretty good.

Finally I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Thank you for visiting me.
Have a great day!

Love You

Yesterday I came home so tired from work. Some days I don't even want to create anything but this stamp set really lifted me.

6x8%20Dearest%20Friend%20Stamp%20Set.jpg

I was in the mood for some colouring.  I wanted to achieve a soft almost watercolour look with Copic markers. What do you think?

This card uses the Masking technique. I used a post-it note and extended the floral image to fill the whole card front width.  It's a really simple and easy technique.

I added some ink sponging on the top portion of the image and fussy cut around the bottom and adhered it onto a blue cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with teal embossing powder.  Then I die cut the bottom edge of the cardbase for some added interest.

Thank you for visiting me.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hope Your Day Is Amazing

Today I have a card to share from the Class Magic Marker Techniques

Watercolor%20Stripes%20Cover%20Die%20Set.jpg
First of all I used the flower and leaf die and cut several pieces from white cardstock. Next, instead of stamping with the base layer for the flower and leaf, I used Copic markers R20 (for the flower) and G21 (for the leaf) to colour the die cuts.

To create some texture, I used a piece of jute cloth with Colourless Blending solution and pressed the jute cloth over the coloured die-cut pieces.

When the die-cuts are dry, I stamped the next few layers with Altenew inkpads (Rouge, Crimson and Violet for the flower and Forest Glades and Evergreen for the leaves).

On the Watercolor Stripes Cover die, I used Copic Marker E31 and coloured the stripes. Once again, I used a microfibre cloth with the Colourless Blending solution to create texture on the stripes.

For the sentiment Hope, I die-cut 4 pieces from white cardstock.  I stacked and glued 2 of the pieces together.  One of the sentiment was coloured with Black alcohol ink marker and the other with E31.  Then I glued the brown piece over the black and offset it slightly for some interest.  For the stamped sentiment, I used Versamark and white heat embossed it on brown cardstock.

Then the card is assembled as shown - the flowers are adhered with foam adhesive for some dimension.

I love this assignment, it was so fun and I love the texture created with the Blending solution.

Thank you for visiting me and hope your day is beautiful!

Miss you My Friend

I really enjoyed the lesson With a Twist at Altenew Academy.  It's fun to use a favourite technique and adding something unexpected.

Here are the products I used on my card:

Cross Stitch Flower die

Cross Stitch Flower Stamp set

Sweet Rose Bouquet Stamp set
Layered Medallions Cover Die A - Altenew
Layered Medallion Cover Die A
I am in love with the new Altenew cross stitch stamps and dies so I thought it would be fun to use the cross stitch die with a twist.

The twist component on my card is instead of using the stamp which matched the Cross Stitch Flower die, I used the Sweet Rose Bouquet stamp.

On a piece of white cardstock, I run the Flower die through my die cutting tool. Next I created a mask for the flower die and another mask for the area around the flower.  With the help of MISTI, I stamped the flower stem using Altenew Inkpads Evergreen and Forest Glades. Then I placed the mask around the flower and the stem area.

Using the stamp set Sweet Rose Bouquet, I stamped the flowers using the Cherry Blossom inks and the leaves and stems with the Green inks on the area of the Cross Stitch die imprint.

For the background I die cut the Medallion Cover die and used it as a stencil and sponged some Distress inks Worn Lipstick and Shaded Lilac.  The sentiment is from the Cross Stitch Flower stamp set.  To finish off the card, I added some flower sequins.

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!
