Forest Friends

Hi Friends! I can't believe how fast the week's gone.  This is a short post - I made this card for the Taylored Expressions challenge TESC150.  I just can't get enough of these cute forest cuties from Woodland Winter.

Taking this opportunity to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the US!!  I pray that you will have a Wonderful time with your families and loved ones.  Just enjoy each other's company, and of course all the delicious food too.

Don't forget to comment this week for your chance to win - read all about it here.

Take care,

Taylored Expressions - Blast From the Past Blog Hop (16 Nov)

Hello Friends!  I'm glad to be participating again in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop.  The theme for today's hop is "Thankful".

I wanted to ink up my Green Acres set, to create a happy scene for a Thank You card.  That's the plan anyway cos would you believe it, I've never been on a farm before!
Here's the attempt:

I think this might be the first card I've made in a long while without any embellishments nor die-cuts. Just stamping and colouring.  It's so relaxing to just colour the images and see the scene come to life.  I didn't have the right Thank You sentiment, so I had to use the sentiment from Sunflower Wreath and the tree peeking from the side is from Love Grows Here.  I do apologise for using two images from the newer sets to complete my farm scene.

Here's another look at the stamped images:

For copics fan, here are the markers I used:
Barn & hay (R39, R37, R35, E19, E17, E15, E13, Y21, Y26), Tractor (YG01, YG03, YG25, C01, C03, C05, C09), Farmer (C01, C03, E19, E15, E13, BG72, BG75, B91, B93, B95, E000, E01, E31, R20), Chicken (YR18, YR17, YR15, YR13, BG72), Fence (E17, E15, E13), Tree (YG01, YG03, YG25, E15)

To finish off the card, I did some sponging around the stamped piece, using Memento Summer Sky on the top half and Memento New Sprout on the bottom half and adhered it to a Cranberry cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the hop.

Taylored Expressions - Blast from the Past Blog Hop (October 19)

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!  Today's theme is Trick or Sweet... hmm... that's a hard one to choose.  Anyway, I had a little burst of inspiration and decided to go with both themes.

Here's Trick:
We don't really celebrate Halloween in Malaysia, but since I had some Halloween themed papers, I thought it would be fun to make a card.

The My Mind's Eye paper (Mischievious 6x6 pad) is so cute, and so all I had to do was adhere the Pennants (cut with the matching Pennants Border die set) and a sentiment (pennant & sentiment are from the set Pennant Parade), and... the card is ready!

Here's my second card:
For this card, I cut out the front of the cardbase with a scalloped oval die.  I embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Clouds Impression Plate and inked some Distress Ink Tumbled Glass over it.  Then I cut a piece of patterned paper for the bottom of the embossed cardstock, and adhered to the card as shown.  The cupcake base was from the little platform on Life is a Circus set, stamped on a piece of white glittered felt, and the cupcake was cut using the Keeping Tabs die and folded.  For some interest and texture, I spritzed the Shimmer Goosebumps over the cupcake.  The balloons were coloured with Copic Markers and adhered just above the cupcake.  The tiny cupcake and the sentiment are from the Stamp set Pennant Parade (a special free set from Taylored Expressions).

Here's a closer look:

Taylored Expressions - Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Hi!  I'm excited today to join Taylored Expressions' September Blast from the Past Blog Hop.  It's my first time and I'm a newbie TE fan, so I hope I'm doing everything right.  This month's theme is special because it's a double theme Birthday/Birth Day to celebrate birthdays and the birth of Taylor's new baby.

Here's my card:

I used the stamp set Friendship Blooms and the matching dies (Leafy Branch & Friendship Blooms).  First, I stamped the leafy branch with Memento Bamboo Leaves, the flowers with Memento Rose Bud and Tangelo. Then came the fun part to cut out the images using the matching dies. It was so easy and everything cuts perfectly!  To add some interest to the leafy branch, I added some shading with Copic Markers (YG13 & blended it with YG00). For the flowers, I added an outline to the polka dot petals with E95.

I didn't have an appropriate Happy Birthday stamp, but I have a sentiment "Happy Holidays" from Tag...You're It! set.  So, I stamped just the word "Happy" and wrote "Birthday" underneath it with my Copic Multiliner pen.  The sentiment piece was from the die-cut Keeping Tabs.

Did you notice that cute button at the bottom just on the fence? Yes, that's another cute stamp from the Friendship Blooms set.  And, the fence is the awesome Picket Fence border die which I absolutely love.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope you like the card.
