Ink Blending Background

This week I just wanted to make a card with no colouring - lol! Some days I just have no desire to colour and so I pull out some dies and inks to create a simple card.

The Altenew products I used are Fantasy Floral 3D and Signature Word dies.

Although the focal point of the card are the die-cut flowers, the inking background looks amazing in real life.  I used Distress Oxide inks and blended them on white cardstock.  The inks I used are Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple and Broken China.  I started the ink blending by softly inking Candied Apple at the centre with an Ink Blending tool, next I added Fossilized Amber towards the top part of the cardstock and Broken China at the bottom section.  I added some Sparkle Shimmer Spritz and spritzed it from about 2 feet above the cardstock.  I couldn't capture all that shimmer in the photos.

I used a patterned cover die over the ink blended background which gave it some dimension and interest.

To dress up the card, I selected 3 colours for the floral die-cuts to match the ink blending background - orange, pink and teal. The Fantasy Floral die-cut has 3 layers for the flowers.  For the base I used the lightest shade, a medium shade for the centre and the darkest shade of cardstock for the top layer. If you don't have colour variations you could use ink blending on white cardstock to achieve the different colour intensity.  I also added different types of cardstock for some added texture.

To finish up the card, I adhered the die-cut Hello at the bottom right corner and some gemstones.

I hope you like the card.

Thank you for visiting me and have a great day!
