Unity Hop {26 July 2018}

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Unity Hop!  I'm so glad you stopped by. I've been busy trying to squeeze in every spare time I have to create because I LOVE this week's new Release.

The weather has been so cold and wet here and I'm almost dressed like this every day :)

I did a lot of fussy cutting around the sentiment - I really enjoy doing this.

I love creating clouds that look like snow.  To add the effect, I pounced the dauber onto the card for some additional texture.

Creating a wintry scene with this next stamp - I love a white Christmas :) It's always summer where I am end of the year.

I had to share this card because I love the image. When I coloured and created the card, I didn't know it was a self portrait of Angie Blom. I think she did an awesome job!

Lastly, I have to share two of my favourite cards from the July KOTM.

Thank you so much for visiting me.

Here is the full list of all of us who are hopping today:

Beyond Basics Background - Thanks

I seldom create backgrounds that are elaborate as most of my work are fast and easy due to my busy life. Today I took a little extra time to create a background that has several techniques inspired by the Class Beyond Basics Backgrounds.

The Altenew products I used are

Die_Mandala%20Die%20Set.jpg
Mandala Die set

Thanks Die - Altenew
Thanks die
Daisy Stamp Set - Altenew
Daisy Stamp set

Here's my card

Using the Mandala die, I die-cut it with kraft cardstock. Then I placed the die-cut over a piece of watercolour cardstock and spritzed some gold, red and green shimmer colours. When everything is dry, I took the die-cut and added Versamark all over the mandala section and gold heat embossed it and adhered it to the watercolour cardstock.

Next for the sentiment, I die-cut the word "Thanks" on white and black cardstock so that I have 3 pieces for each of them. I stacked and adhered the white together then the black. On the white die-cut I pressed the Versamark inkpad over it and heat embossed with orange embossing powder. I repeated this twice. Then I adhered the orange die-cut to the black and offset it a little.

For the flower, I used the Daisy stamp with Summer Afternoon inks and used Prismacolors for added definition near the flower centre. I stamped the leaves with Green Fields inks. All the images were then fussy cut out.

I adhered the sentiment to a strip of black and gold cardstock and placed the daisy and leaves as shown. To finish off the card, I added some floral sequins with silver stickles in the centres.

It has been fun to churn out the cards for the AECP assignments this weekend and I had so much fun with the various techniques.

See you!
