Thanks a Bunch

Hello Friends!  I'm participating in the WaltzingMouse Stamps' Blog Party, and the theme for this month is Teacher Appreciation.  It's a difficult theme for me as I have left school a looooong time ago, and I don't know what kids and parents give their teachers these days.

But, if I were to make a card for a teacher, I think this would be it :)

It's a little girl saying thanks to her teacher and she's standing in front of a blackboard :)  The colours on the blackboard aren't showing up well on the photo (I don't have my camera with me, just the faithful iphone).  The girl image is from Half Pint Heroines, and she was coloured with Copic Markers.

Perhaps this close-up shot might be a little clearer.  I stamped the sentiment (from Compact Sentiments set) and white embossed it.  Actually I found the white embossing powder has turned a little yellow, and I quite like the effect.  Then I stamped the little bird from Half Pint Heroines with white ink and coloured it with metallic colourpencils.  I promise you the effect is pretty good in real life!  I embossed the frame of the blackboard with some score lines using Scor-pal to give it some dimension.  I added some distressing on the girl image for a more vintage look, seeing I've left school ages ago... hehe.

The patterned paper is from Graphic 45 - An ABC primer, which helps to create the scene for this card.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please join me to check out all the Amazing creations at the WMS Blog.

Have fun!
Kary
I'm also submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge - Flower Power.

This is great Kary - my white ep also turns a cream colour.. The metallic pencil must look good on the black - I must try it, thanks for the inspiration.

The card looks vintage enough. The alphabets on the right give a hint of school life too. The bow and flower add an element of elegance to the card.
