Unity Friends with Flair (20.04.2012)

Wow, Friday is here again, the week has gone so quickly by.  Are you looking forward to the weekend?  I sure am.  We'll be going out to dinner tomorrow night and I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes for my dad yesterday.  He had a lovely birthday and he is well. This card is dedicated to all who have relatives and/or friends who are suffering from Alzheimers.  I know it's sad to gradually lose your loved ones to this illness.  There are days when my dad appears to be in a world where I can't reach him.  I would really miss his coherent self, the dad who can converse and laugh with me.  But, we have more good days than the not-so-good ones, and it's a blessing.

I feel I didn't do this image much justice, trying to colour the setting sun {grins}, it simply didn't look right, but I hope you like the message of the card.  The image is from the Unity set by Phyllis Harris, Present in my Heart.

Please be sure to hop along with the Friends with Flair today.  Have a beautiful day!!
Kary

Kary, I think your colouring is stunning!! And I love that you used a polka dot mat also. Really lovely card.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad but I hope the good days continue to outnumber the bad for as long as possible.

Kary this is so sweet - it is hard to walk the road you currently have to walk, and I am glad to hear that you are having more good days than off days still.

Kary, this is such a beautiful card! My dad has dementia and I can totally relate to being blessed with the good days as opposed to the bad ones. Just take it day by day and know that you are not alone!

Alzheimer is a difficult disease and my heart goes out to you and your family. We lost my grandmother to it last year. Hold onto the memories for him. While he may forget the now, his soul will always remember his love for you.

I couldn't wait to get to this card. I think you definitely did it justice. You have a way of coloring emotion that is just amazing.

Kary, your card is just so very beautiful! I am truly sorry to hear about your Dad. We are dealing with something similar with my Grandmother. She raised me and is like my Mother. It is so hard but I will be praying for you and him. You are just the sweetest! Lots of hugs from your friend here in sunny California :-)
