Card Patterns Sketch 129

How was your weekend?  I didn't get to do very much... read a few books and went out with my sis to get some new equipment for the office.  I looked at the iPad2 and the new Macbook Pro, very very tempted to buy them, but I guess not yet.  Perhaps next year... ;)

After all that, I got home, made a card. You know, I think I'm in the mood for CAS cards lately. It's quite amazing that I've not touched my copic markers for sometime!

Here's the card :

Based on this sketch:

It's been a long while since I played along with Card Patterns sketches.  This is one I really like...but I had a bit of trouble keeping the focal image in the centre.  On my card, it just didn't look right, so I had to place it a little off to the side.  I played with a bit of masking and stamping on the cardbase.  For the centre strip on the cardbase, I used the mini doily stamp from TCM Just For You set, alternating the colours with Memento Pear Tart & Rose Bud (I did a second generation stamping with Rose Bud for a lighter pink).  The borders were stamped with one of the TCM Timeless Tags stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The focal image large doily is from TCM Simply Delightful, I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and sponged Pear Tart around the outer edges and Rose Bud in the centre.  The sentiment is from the TCM Timeless Tags.

Hope you like the card ;-)

Ink : Memento Rich Cocoa, Rose Bud, Pear Tart
Paper : Hero Arts Layering paper Snow

Love your card, such pretty colors!! You know what, yesterday I really had the urge to get my Copics out, since I also haven't used them in quite some time now! ;-D But there are such fun other techniques as well, love it all and love the change techniques every now and then, keeps it interesting, right?! Well.... I can only advise you to do get the iPad and the MacBook ;-D (don't have a pro, just the book, hi hi). I really, really, really looooove mine!! Oeps, did I tempt you even more? hi hi. Wishing you a wonderful day!
