Guest Designer for Melanie's "A Year of Borders"

I can't tell you how Suprised and Excited I was to hear from Melanie Muenchinger asking me if I would like to be her Guest Designer for her new stamp set "A Year of Borders"!  I am a BIG fan of Melanie's eversince I discovered StampTV!!  I love her stamp sets because they are so gorgeous and so versatile - it's so easy to create great looking cards with them.

At the same time, I feel a little nervous as I've never done anything like this before.  I classify myself a "laid back" stamper, just happy to be stamping for fun.  Nevertheless, I hope to be able to share some of my ideas and hopefully you will be inspired.

"A Year of Borders" is a great stamp set - it's one I know I will be using regularly throughout the year.  Even though it's a border set, but when using it, think beyond just borders.  The images can be cut out and used in many ways, just let your creativity take over.

Here's my card:

I love the autumn leaves and acorn border!  Since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Malaysia nor have autumn (weather is hot all year round) I decided to use it with the Gina K Friends sentiment set.  The sentiment describes thankfulness for friends who have been with us through every season of life, the good and the not-so-smooth journeys.

A closer view
I hope you like the card and I hope it will inspire you to use "A Year of Borders" to create something today.

Thank you, Melanie, for allowing me to share ideas with your beautiful stamp set.  I feel so honoured!

Have a blessed day!

Hi Kary,

Not to worry at all for your creating as guest designer, you're perfect for the job!!! Just look at this amazing card!! It's gorgeous! Well, we are here now in the middle of the autumn season and to me it would be wonderful to have a yearround warm weather, ha ha!! Though, when I was in Singapore last year it was quite a challenge for me, the moisten atmosphere.. But here it's very wet as well at the moment, but then from the rain! We are xperiencing our first autumn storm and it's bad... it's cold and loads of wind and rain, brrrrr! But your card gives me the warm and cuddly feeling!
Ha ha, well, unfortunately being a christmas baby means less presents, 'cause people combine it and definitely less bday cards, 'cause people just send a christmas card and then say: P.S. Happy birthday! Ha ha!

Wishing you a wonderful day, dear Kary!
Hugs, Wendy

No Autumn, wow! well, we don't get much of an "Autumn" here in Texas either, the leaves just turn brown and then fall off in one week, then it gets cold, LOL! Your card is fabulous, I love the coloring and love what you've done with those label dies! beautiful patterns!

Beautiful card, Kari. I like the detail you add to your cards and the way you "think outside the box". That is so inspirational for all of us cardmakers and stampers. I have loved this border set since I first saw it and it's on my wish list (hint, hint Santa). So I am truly looking forward to see all your creations. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Sharon :o)

Gorgeous card, Kary! Congratulations on being Melanie's guest designer. You are doing a great job of showcasing her stamp set. The Christmas card you made that she shared on her blog was fabulous! It was fun to read the information about you and your life in Malaysia. So glad you found Stamp TV and Gina K Designs so we can see all the beautiful cards you make.
