It's a day of stamping & exploring some new techniques. Here's my shaped card using the Spellbinders Picot edge circle die. Just a sentiment and a piece of patterned paper and some embellishments. The only big effort on this card is the Chinese good-luck knot holding the card together. I've had this book on knots for a long time and out of the blue I felt like learning how to tie the Chinese knots. I thought it's rather cute to have a Chinese twist to this Christmas card.
My card was based on this Waltzing Mouse sketch:
Since I was pulling out my WM stamps, I may as well make a tag too for Claire's challenge. I think I went a little overboard decorating this tag {grin}:
First I inked up the tag with Distress Inks and a spritz of my own mix of perfect pearls to give it some shimmer. When everything was dry I embossed the tag with the holly embossing folder. Then lots of stamping using Nordic Winter on a pink cardstock for the pleats at the bottom and to make the flower. I even stamped on the seam binding to match..hehe.
Some close ups:
What do you think? No colouring this weekend, which feels odd.
I'll be back tomorrow with the winner for my last Giveaway prize(s). See you soon.

Beautiful cards, Kary! Love the special twist of the chinese knot!
Wait, you said you were cleaning up today-- calling you out on "getting distracted" as my little people say-- that or "getting sucked in". Great projects, congrats again on your WMS freebie.
Hi Kary!
I must admit I like the first one the best, but the second is also pretty! But maybe a bit too many colors for me. Do love the gorgeous shapes of the first one, that outside die is pretty and the bells are so cute! Very nice!
Hugs, Wendy
