Floral Birthday Cards

May is the month of birthdays in my family.  My sister and my mum will be having their birthdays just 2 days apart.

This year, both of them will be receiving floral cards using Altenew stamps.

The first card is for my sister - I used Altenew's Adore You stamp set coloured with Copic Markers.  I love how it turned out.  The background is done using a stencil.

The second card is for my mum.  On this card, I used the Altenew set Best Mom and the sentiment from Beautiful Day.  The flowers are colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut out and adhered on the card.

Hello!

Reorganising my craft space, I realised I have hoarded quite a number of Altenew stamp sets which have not seen ink! What better way to get me going by playing along with the Altenew Inspiration challenge for April. 

Such a pretty picture, isn't it?  I love the sweet frangipani flowers (that's what we call them in Asia) that Sveta captured in her photo.  They remind me so much of my childhood.

Here's my take of the inspiration challenge:

For the background, I used the Awesome Halftone Circles set.  The circles were inked with Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Sapphire, Buttercream and Mango Smoothie inks.

The focal point flowers are from the Garden Treasure set.  They are coloured with Copic Markers - B95, B93, B91 and B000; Flower centre - YR15, Y15 and white gel pen.  The leaves are from Camellia - Build a Flower set inked with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen inks.

I really had fun putting this card together.

Let's get straight into the cards...

 Here is a card from April's sentiment kit.  I love the huge blooms and I think there's so much one can do with this set. I used copic markers to colour the blooms.

This is fun rabbit, and it was quite a challenge to colour him.  I love that the image is so huge and fills up the card.  I had the sentiment on the inside of the card. 

Look at this awesome friendship stamp, love the sentiment!

This is one cool Graduation kit, there is also a Girl set.

Saving the best for last... April's KOTM is one Awesome kit.  I say this every month and this month, my favourite image is this bicycle. Love, Love, LOVE it!!
