More Blessed to Give...

Hello Friends!  As we celebrate Good Friday today, I'm reminded of the wondrous love of God.  It seems appropriate to share this card in the Unity Friends with Flair hop:

The image is from Unity's Phyllis Harris More Blessed to Give set.  The Copic markers I used for the image are:

Dog - E21, E23, E01, E02
Teddy - E31, E33, E35, R32
Girl's hair - YR23, YR27, Y11
Girl's skin - E50, E01, E13, R20
Girl's outfit - R30, R32, R35, B91, B93, B95
Ground - C00

Today, the weather was beautiful.  After church, we went to South Perth for a barbeque picnic to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday.  Here is the beautiful view of the city seen from the park:

Thank you for visiting me.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking Of You

Hi Everyone!  Time for another One Stamp 3-ways card idea from Inspired Stamps!  Today, I'm using the set "Thinking of You" - I think this is one of my favourite sets.  I took a different approach for the 3-ways.  Using the same layout, I rotated the image when placing them to the cards, and had slight variations to the way the card was embellished.  I was thinking, this would be perfect for a gift set.

Here are the individual cards:
Note the way the flowers are positioned and the sentiment was stamped on patterned paper
The image was rotated slightly, and the sentiment was stamped directly onto the cardbase
The sentiment was stamped on white strip and adhered to the card with foam adhesive for some dimension
The flower image was stamped on patterned paper (with a soft background image) and coloured with Copic markers in soft shades.

I hope you like this idea.  Be sure to stop by the Inspired Stamps blog for more ideas from the Design Team!

Have a fabulous day!

Even though We're Apart...

Hi Friends!  Hope all is well with you.  I had a relaxing day at home the past weekend, just making cards.  I also realised I've not played the Unity challenge for a long, long time.

I'm playing along with the sketch found here:

Here's my card:
I kept pretty much to the sketch, as it gave me a chance to take out my tag die to use.  I'm a dies hoarder - I buy a few every month and I think I should stop buying and start using them!  I used my favourite Phyllis Harris set "Present in my Heart" and stamped it on kraft cardstock.

The Copics I used are:
Skin - E30, E31, E33, R20
Hair - E11, E23, E25, YR23
Sun - Y35, YR04
T-shirt - R81, R83, R85, C1
Shorts - R32, R35, R37, R39
Starfish - R39, R32
Sea - BG000
Sky - BG0000
Sand - E11, E31, Y35

The background was created using the lovely "Poppy Chevron" stamp inked with Memento Desert Sand.

I thought it would be fun to add a little interactive piece to the card.  There's a little pull-out on the right of the image, and there you'll see the other half of the sentiment.

All of you know I'm a fan of Phyllis Harris - I'm so excited my cards using her stamps are published in this week's Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.

Time to check out the beautiful projects at the Unity blog from all my Friends with Flair!

Thank you for visiting me.

Have a fabulous day!

A Little Hello

Welcome back to another Thursday project with Inspired Stamps.  This week we are challenged to do a Colouring project. I decided to use the Christmas Poinsettia set for a non-Christmas card.  The sentiment is from the set Thinking of You - it's two separate stamps and I just love how they look together.

As you probably can guess, I used Copic Markers to colour the Poinsettia.  The colours I used are:

Petals - R32, R35, R37, R39
Leaves & stem - YG23, YG61, YG63
Flower centre - Y17
Outline - BG0000

Hope you like the card.  To view more inspiration, please visit the Inspired Stamps blog - the Design Team has some fabulous work to share.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday card

Hello Everyone! It's been so long since I last played with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  I have a stack of Flourishes stamps which have not seen ink, and it felt so good to start playing with them. The theme for this week is to create a Spring inspired card.

This card is for a friend of mine who celebrated her birthday this week.  She loves everything purple.  I'm not sure if these blossoms do come in purple, but I guess it's ok to have them in any colour I like ;)  The set I used is Bloomin' Aussie Florals, and the sentiment is from Botanical Bookplates vol 1.

I apologise for the photo as I had to take it at night.  I love how pretty the Flourishes die is, and I think it adds such interest to the card.  The set I used is Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames.

The Copic markers I used for this card are:

Petals - V000, V12 V15, V17
Flower centre - Y21, Y23, Y26
Leaves - G20, G21, G94
Outline - BG0000

Thanks for visiting today.

A Birthday card

Hi There!  Looks like I'm on the roll with the Angie Girls :)  Today, I'm sharing Maggie Girl - February and March are busy birthday months.  I'm constantly in need of birthday cards.  This will be going out to a dear friend of mine.

I have been so busy at work - it's good to unwind with some colouring. When it comes to assembling the card, I seem to run out of ideas.  So, these larger stamps are great, they fill the card front such that I don't need to think about design..lol!

Here are the Copics used:
Skin - E50, E01, R20, E13
Hat, ribbon - RV00, RV02, RV23
Top - V20, V22, V25
Hair - E21, E17, E19
Skirt & Shoes - BG000, BG01, BG02, YG23, YG13, RV00, RV23
Wine glass - R39, R22

Now, head over to the Unity blog to play along with Unity Friends with Flair!

Thank you for visiting me.

Have a great weekend!

Hello There..

Hi Everyone!  Hope your week is going well.  Today, we are sharing Spring cards with Inspired Stamps.  It feels odd to be thinking of Spring when the weather in Australia is heading into Autumn, although the days are still sunny, they are getting shorter.

I made a CAS card, using two different Stamp sets - the butterfly from "Butterflies and Blooms" set, and the sentiment from "Thinking of You" set.

The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder, and the butterflies were coloured with Copic Markers. The card measures 4 x 4".

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to head over to the Inspired Stamps blog to see the rest of the wonderful Spring cards by the Design Team.

Inspired Stamps New Release

I'm so excited to share the latest Inspired Stamps release today.  I'm sharing a wonderful set called "The Lord's Prayer and John 3:16".  This set is available today on the Inspired Stamps store - please check it out, you will love it!

https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/u/0/?ui=2&ik=0e16fb0a05&view=att&th=13d2bc92c5ca9b95&attid=0.1&disp=inline&realattid=f_hdsy4uoc1&safe=1&zw&saduie=AG9B_P9LKHbQEIQcdmTvU7n2NTNr&sadet=1362309852819&sads=Dz0JlJA9EvyrwScnQHRRWK6C328&sadssc=1

I LOVE the font in the set, and the fact that it's a set where you won't need much embellishments as the Scriptures take the centre stage.  Here's my first card:

I paired the Scripture sentiment with the cute His Little Ones : Girl Praying.  The girl is coloured with Copic Markers:
Hair : C1, C5, C7, C9
Skin : E50, E01, E13
Shading on her outfit : C5, C3, C1

My second card is a simple one.  The Scripture sentiment is stamped on a piece of patterned paper, and I die-cut the top section of the paper and mat it on a black cardstock.  The card is finished off with a sheer gathered trim and some fabric flowers.

I hope you are as excited as I am about this new set.  All the new releases will be available at noon, today, on the Inspired Stamps webstore.

Happy Shopping!
Kary

She is Unique

It's Friday again!  I am so ready for the weekend - it has been a long week of work.  This weekend is going to be a quiet one, just me and stamps :)

I'm sharing another Angie Girl this week, the sweet - "Andi Girl".  She's coloured with Copic markers.....and then, I ran out of ideas how to decorate the card - Oops!  Anyhow, after sometime, all I could think of was adding some chevrons, so that's how this card ended up like so.

My girlfriend, Carrie, tells me the chevrons are too distracting but I kinda like it :0.  Tell me what you think...

Hair : E11, E23, E25, E99
Top : R00, R21, R22
Apron : YR07, YR04, YR02, BG10, YG03, YG11, YG17, RV32, RV34
Pants : YR07, B91, B93, B95, B97
Boots : YR02, YR04, YR07, 0

Inspired Stamps Scripture card

Although I love colouring, sometimes one just needs a quick and easy card.  This card came together really quickly, with mainly scraps.  I die-cut the butterflies, punched the border and stitched the patterned papers together.  Select a Scripture sentiment and stamp it on the patterned paper and adhere it to a 4x4" cardbase.

For this card, I used Inspired Stamps set  "Be Still Silhouettes" stamped with black ink.

Please visit the Inspired Stamps blog for more inspiring Scripture projects.  Tomorrow we'll be sharing some projects for the new March releases which will be available at noon time on the Inspired Stamps store.  Be sure to check back here tomorrow :)

Thank you for visiting me.

Winner from Celebrating Friendship post

I am overwhelmed by the sweet comments everyone left on my blogpost last Friday.  Thank you so much for the kind words and Hugs for following my blog!  Once again, my heartfelt Thanks to Julie for inviting me to participate in her Blogoversary party.

I have a card to share which I made sometime ago, for a friend's Mother-in-law who was not well.  I love this Flower Girl image and hope the card brought her some smiles.  It was one of the early cards I made when I first bought Copic markers.

The image was stamped on a white cardstock, and coloured with copic markers.  It was cut using Spellbinders Labels 15, and sponged lightly with some dye inks.  Then it was assembled with some patterned paper and trims.

Now, onto the exciting bit - the prize is a $10 voucher to any online store of your choice. I decided to let random.org pick out a winner and the number selected was 8 - which is Gwen!  Gwen, I'm so happy you won, please email me.

Once again, thanks for visiting me.
Have a wonderful week!!

Celebrating Friendship - Julie's Blogoversary Blog Hop

Hello Friends!  I'm so honoured to be invited to celebrate with Julie on her Blogoversary event.  It's amazing how the internet has enabled all of us to meet because we share a common love for stamping and crafting.  To help Julie celebrate, she has invited some of her  blogging friends to share some artwork on the theme Celebrating Friendship. If you have come from Corrie's blog you are in the right place, if not, please start from the very beginning at Julie's blog.  To make the hop fun, there will be prizes along the way plus lots of inspiration :-)

I love making cards - it is my way of unwinding after a busy day or week at workToday, I have 2 Unity cards to share, and am linking it to the Unity FWF, after all, I first met and connected with Julie on the Unity Friends with Flair post

My first card is with an image from Phyllis Harris - "Every Breath" coloured with Copic markers.  Those of you who know me, will be able to tell I'm a big fan of Phyllis. Her stamps are a joy to colour and I love this set.  The sentiment says it all, every breath is a gift and every friend is also a gift.  I just can't imagine life without friends.

My second card is a one layer card using Angie Blom's "Lizzie Girl {Showered with Love}".  I am in love with all the Angie Girls I think it will be a cheery card to give a friend who's had some rainy days.

To add a little interest, I stamped some washi tapes using the set "Washi This Love".  I used this 120lb cardstock so that the Copic colouring does not bleed through the card.

I have to apologise, in my hurry to prepare this post, I forgot to note the Copic colours I used. I hope you like the cards.

Your next stop is Erin (CelticCrafter) & Ruth's blog here - http://celticcrafters.blogspot.com/.

Thanks for visiting me.  Oh before I forget, I have a little gift for someone who leaves me a comment or follow my blog :)  I will announce the winner on Monday.

Enjoy the hop and the weekend!
