Birthday Card

Today is my dad's birthday.  I know he loves chocolate cake, and I hope he'll like the cake I made.  In a little while, when my brother gets here, we'll be bringing out the cake.  My dad doesn't remember when his birthday is anymore, but he was so happy this morning when I wished him "Happy Birthday".  When I asked what he would love to have for dinner (we're taking him out tonight) he said anything will do, he's just happy that we are celebrating with him.  Sometimes, his simplicity really melts my heart.

Here's the card I made for him:

It's a simple card, and I hope he likes it.  I used the stamps from Unity-Jillibean's Spotted Owl Soup set with papers from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety.

Ok, I'm off to get the cake ready.

Have a lovely day!!

Stamps : Unity-Jillibean Spotted Owl Soup
Paper : Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety 6x6 pad, Hero Arts Latte card
Ink : Memento Tuxedo Black, copic markers

Oh Kary, my heart lurched for you when you spoke of your father and his simplicity - not an 'easy' time when parents become dependent on us....
I pray you had a wonderful time with him on this most special of days.

Loved your card

Blessings

Hello dear Kary!
Congrats on your dad!! I'm sure he will loooove the cake and this card and especially having his family around him! Of course, it's sad that he doesn't all remember and other negative health things, but the way he can appreciate small things, makes you happy! We all can learn from that! I hope you will enjoy the day together, the diner out and just being happy! All the best to you and your family and a Happy birthday for your dad!!
Hugs, Wendy

What a sweet card for your Dad! My parents are both the same way and my cards are the only thing they need. Happy birthday to your Dad! I hope your family enjoyed celebrating with him!
