Growing in Unity - Day 4

Hello again.  Today I'm going to show you some Christmas cards.  Every year I make a lot of Christmas cards for my dad to mail out.  He loves every card I make (I think he is biased of course!).  This is probably the last year he is able to send out cards, as his memory is failing and he has problems writing.  So, this year, I'll be making some extra effort to ensure the cards will be a little more special, for him.

I'm going to keep the posting simple, with not too many instructions (in case you get bored reading them :)).

Here's the first card:

I just received my new October KOM in the mail yesterday!  There's two cute stamps perfect for Christmas cards.  Here's one of them.  I used waterbased markers to colour the image, and then added glitter to the light blue rectangle behind the ornaments. What do you think?

Here's the second card:

This is a simple card with unusual colours for Christmas.  I made the paper ribbon by cutting a strip of the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather paper, and curled it a little with a pencil to break some of the fibres.  Then folded them at the top making pleats, and adhere it to a strip of purple cardstock.

Here's the third card, with more traditional Christmas colours:

Here, I stamped the focal image using black ink, and colour the open areas with red & green markers. Then add glitters all over the image.

One last card :

I sponged the edges of the stamped image with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and added some fine glass glitters (hope you can see the glitter on the photo).  Then assembled the card with 3 different sizes of Spellbinders Large Scalloped Circles - 2 red ones and one mid-sized white circle.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll be back tomorrow for the final day of GIU.  Have a wonderful day!

Hi Kary!

Oeh, gosh! These cards are soo pretty! These two Kits from Unity are my first kits and I already have the christmas stamps laying on my desk to get started, but had no inspiration, but now here it is, my inspiration! What lovely cards with you, love the glitter behind the first one. And the last one is one of my faves as well, sooo nice!! And how sweet of you to make these cards for your dad to send out, he must be soo proud! But I'm sorry to hear he might not be able to do so next year. Hope he will stay healthy for a loooong time to come!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
Hugs, Wendy

Wow! What can I say? Love all the 4 cards, but my favourite would have to be the first card. Like how you've alternated the colours for the sentiment.
