Card Challenge

Made a few card for StampTV challenges.  Lately, I'm really hooked on card challenges - it's really fun.
This is the 1st card I made.  The challenge was to cover up your stamp image with something, i.e. glitters, microbeads, etc.  I found a stash of window cards which I purchased when I was in Amsterdam some years back.  I haven't even opened the pack, so I reckon it's about time to start using them.  This card is really simple, I just cut 4 panels of patterned papers from October Afternoon's Farm Fresh collection and adhere them just underneath the window.  The panels are cut 2in x 2in.  Then I stamped the daisy onto an OA text paper and coloured the centre with a yellow colour pencil, and added Glossy Accents over it.  Let it dry for an hour and then using foam tape, adhered it to the middle of the window panel.  Tied a bow on the left hand side and the card is done.  Easy, isn't it?  More, soon.

Cards with Unity's KOM

This card was made using a mix of KOM 09/08 Friendship, Love, Miracles & Growing In Unity sets.  I kind of love how it turned out.  Here's how I made the card:

  • Focal Background - stamped Growing in Unity flourish stamps using 4 Distressed inks - Broken China, Shabby Shutters, Scattered Straw and Antiqued Linen.

  • Using a stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black.

  • Stamp the butterfly with Versafine Smokey Gray & coloured it using a blue & green colour pencils. Go over the dots on the butterfly with Marvy Glitter pen (silver).

  • Stamp the scallop border on a scrap white cardstock, and colour it randomly using the same blue & green colour pencils.

  • Adhere the scallop to the bottom of the main focal image.

  • The faux stitching was with a Souffle pen in light green.

This is a Clean & Simple card done with Unity's KOM 09/08.  I love all the stamps from that kit.  Here's what I did:
  • I stamped the scallop border in Distress Ink Broken China, and coloured it with a blue & green colour pencils.
  • Next, I stamped the sentiment using Versamark and brushed Pearl-ex over the stamped area.
  • Then, I stamped the trees using Versafine Onyx Black, and coloured it using 2 shades of colour pencils.
  • Pearl-ex is a little messy and it doesn't just stay where it's supposed to, so I brushed on 2 other colours of Pearl-ex above the sentiment - a pale greeen and brown.
Thought I'd leave it as a really simple card.

Another Fabulous Stamp Company

Recently, I have been busy shopping online - this is scary! I'm back to my 1st (crafting) love - Stamps!! I have not catalogued my stamps for 1.5 years but I think I have more than 3000 stamps.  It sounds crazy but stamping is very very addictive.

So, I'm really loving the stamp sets at Gina K Designs, and the community of stampers at StampTV who are really friendly folks.  Here are some the recent cards I made for the StampTV challenges. I used the Stamp sets - Friends & Gifts from the Sea - hope you enjoy the cards....
